Melodrama is so overrated. Sorry, I’m a big fan of Lorde’s 2013 Pure Heroine, but melodrama is a 30 minutes album with poor melodies, regular lyrics and limited vocals. I don’t understand why the critics love it so much. They have always criticized Lana by her drama, but liability is the most dramatic track in the world. They have always criticized Lana by her liquors and drugs, but melodrama is basically about getting drunk in parties. And they have always criticized Lana by her passion for men, but Writer in the Dark have lyrics like “I love you til my breathing stops I love you til you call the cops on me” and that’s alright? This is the lore we have so far for the era....

She somehow transmits positive energy through tiny little hearts (probably just the power of Love lmao). She apparently does things on the moon as well, as the Lust for Life video zooms out to show the moon at the very end, and obviously, she performs there for a group of millennials. And someone had to build the ice cream stand. She can also send people to other planets, but maybe she's just drugging them.
 
In Lust for Life, the eclipse seen in Love is revealed to be in Lana's own eyes. Lana is performing awkward choreography behind a blue screen. It's like she's being forced to do it, but she knows a way out. She's like you know i had to do it to em

100% Agree with Honeymoon! My first listen was after midnight through headphones and I was kinda like 'um okay? this might sound better tomorrow', but then it did sound better, and better, and better, and better. It will always be the album I go back to. I STILL think I haven't heard everything that's on Honeymoon- all the layering and sounds that Lana is so proud of.
I pick up new sounds every now and then though. I feel like Honeymoon has the most interesting style because we could slow down all the instrumentals and hear things we never heard, that slip by too fast, we can just pick out SO much, it's really a master piece. 

It’s a shame that we keep dreaming about what this album could’ve been almost 5 months after the release At least she gave us Cherry and Herowig.
 
Also 13 Beaches’ instrumental may sound kinda plain if we exclude the static/electronic sounds it includes in th second verse, I hope it has interesting hidden sounds. WTWWAW’s instrumental and GL’s instrumental must be fire

The Honeymoon instrumental sounds so cinematic and vintage. I can only imagine what how amazing Get Free and Heroin sound...

What if love's instrumental has some really great strings that were hidden bc of the vocals. I'd cry. And I'm so ready to get the cherry instrumental so I can filter out those background vocals and solve the lyrical mystery.

currently listening to the instrumentals of her magnus opus ULTRAVIOLENCE and her twin HONEYMOON and im crying at the subtle hints in every freaking song that added to the atmosphere of the whole album. FUCK Shades chorus is LIGHTNING, HONEYMOONS bridge is out of a movie is sweaarrr her instrumentals tell their own story.
 
I CANT IMAGINE how Cherry and BPBP and HEROIN sound in terms of their instrumentals.

I listen to the whole record without skipping any song

I feel like Honeymoon was the record that really allowed Lana to be herself and was a platform through which she could communicate her internal struggle of the whole persona of Lana Del Rey versus Elizabeth Woolridge Grant. The lyrical parallels in some songs (HBTB and PMIAM from AKA) and themes from songs like GKIT and Swan Song really show this struggle I feel. 
 
The whole record deals with themes of escapism and voyeurism, feeling like you're being watched, and living out fantasies of your own downtime and freedom. The visuals for this era also convey this, what with the whole Starline tours bus - showing Lana, a star herself, literally surrounded in a world of stars, but the obvious factor is that these kinds of Hollywood tours are for the average person, which I think subtly but brilliantly shows the way in which Lana both objectively and personally views herself. 
 
I think out of all her discography, Honeymoon is THE record that she probably let the most go with; she really seemed like she was having a lot of fun with the whole process of creating it and the lyrics are more a tool for imagery rather than narrative, which paints a beautiful picture for the listener. It truly is a shame that it is so under-appreciated by her fanbase.
 
I think the main encompassing feeling and vibe throughout the record is Lana's interpretation of jazz and timelessness, and what the definition of timelessness is, sonically speaking. 
 
It's so soft and lush too. Someone else said it in another thread, and I completely agree with them - there are so many layers to it, you're definitely going to continue to discover different sounds and instruments the more you listen to the songs and even the instrumentals. 
 
I just love Honeymoon so much - it's my favourite Lana album. 

I hope she'll perform MTWBT on the tour..those movements are already iconic  

A$AP's participation on the album has been "un-growing" on me. How is Summer Bummer one of "her favorite things she's written in a while"? I like the song and i couldn't stop playing it on July, but it ruined the album's last chance of being cohesive. If only she had kept it until she released her mixtape with him and Boi-1da (if that's going to ever be a thing). And Groupie Love would be even better with one of Lana's bridges with strings instead of A$AP's verse (his back up vocals sound nice in the last chorus though). I get that they're friends and shit but couldn't she just pick one song to include A$AP on instead of almost ruining the second half of Groupie Bop? Or maybe I say all of this because I'm not too fond of rap.
 
As @Terrence Loves Me said, I think she will keep doing songs like Love, I don't really think she'll lose the sad tone on her songs unless something really drastic happens like her getting married and having kids. And even if that happens, I'd expect her sound to go more adult, like The Other Woman, 24, Change, Terrence Loves You, etc. But I do think/hope we've lost the Lolita Lana or the Pretty When You Cry Lana (lyrically speaking)
