It’s interesting how Israel bombs anything and everything and then claims it was because someone from Hamas was supposedly there (lies. All lies), but then we’re not supposed to believe anything Hamas says. We’re not supposed to believe death toll counts, hospital bombings, nothing. Where are they getting the information that there’s these Hamas people everywhere and why is there no evidence? Why is no one questioning it? If I sound ignorant and there’s some evidence that I’m missing, genuinely let me know. But I’m just shocked no one is really asking questions.

In all honesty, anti-semetic is a pretty silly term to throw around right now, when Israel equates anti-Zionism with anti-semitism. The word has been weaponized against anyone who isn't 100% a supporter of the existence of Israel. 

I feel so helpless and hopeless and angry. To make matters worse, my boyfriend is completely on the side of Israel. He's too tied up in the politics aspect to care about the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding in front of us. He just constantly parrots the propaganda talking points he gets from Western media. He literally claps and cries at Biden's speeches. The other day I went to his house and he had a fucking Biden mug and tote bag that he just bought. I can't get him to care about anything I send regarding Palestinians. 
 
I'm so disgusted by this country and how blatantly obvious everything that's happening is, yet so much of the world is on the wrong side. It's making me feel insane, like I'm constantly being gaslit. I just can't believe there's a genocide happening in front of our eyes and the majority is cheering for the terrorists and I fear that Israel will never be held accountable. And even if they were, you can't bring those people back. You can't undo the structural damage. Idk I'm just so sick.

I can't find any graph to visualise the death toll that's been updated in the last 1-2 weeks. People are really not understanding the scale of this. I would really like to see one that has deaths, injuries + the 200 hostages.
But in my search I did find this one covering 2008-2020. Sooo many more have died in the last 3 weeks than from the whole of 2008-2020.

 
How can anyone see this and not recognise who the large LARGE majority of the victims are from this conflict.

An unfortunate and vastly overdone response to one of the worst terror attacks the world has ever seen by terrorist group Hamas - the intent of the Israeli bombings are to eliminate Hamas military targets, not to "exterminate Palestinians". Unfortunately, Hamas purposefully safeguards in civilian areas,  making it that so every bombing of a Hamas military target has a massive risk of civilian casualties
 
That being said I think Israel should have ceased fire a long time ago and that unlimited humanitarian aid into Gaza needs to be an utmost priority which it hasn't been and that is shameful

What happened this month is basically a culmination of 75 years of occupation and apartheid. The fact that anybody is shocked that this happened… like just total ignorance. 
 
Some people are under the ridiculous impression that the Palestinians “elected” Hamas and are therefore complicit in the attacks - or that they should be held responsible for putting them in power. The last election in Palestine was in 2006. 7% of today’s Palestinian citizens voted for Hamas. 50% of today’s Palestinian citizens are under the age of 18.
 
I think it comes down to people being grossly miseducated. There is a 75-year history of occupation on Palestinian land by Israel, which has been supported and acknowledged by most Western nations (as well as Egypt) for the better half of a century. 
 
The only logical way to resolve this conflict - in a way that protects the lives of both current and future Israelis and Palestinians - is to call for an immediate ceasefire and for there to be an established UN commission that lets Palestine become free from Israel and form its own government - not one that’s been imposed upon them by Israel for the last 15+ years

It's referred to as "Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories" for a reason 
And that reason is that Israel keeps building illegal settlements in Palestine (not vice versa)
Hamas literally said that this was the reason for the October 7 attacks. 
Don't get me wrong, I don't support violence against anyone, anywhere, ever, and I really feel for all the innocent people on both sides. 
But Hamas feels that Palestine is fighting for its very existence and desperate people will resort to desperate measures
These actions also (unfortunately) stoke anti-Semitism. I've seen a lot of comments about "greedy Jews" and so forth which is very disheartening and alarming. 
I just think that the Israeli govt needs to look long and hard at this policy of taking land, and reconsider. And I think Western govts need to put pressure on them about it, too.

It's really weird and a disgrace that supporting Palestine can get you fired from work, suspended, fined and stuff. Something really creepy about it.

Just to clarify my own position, I only started to realise what was really going on about 4 days ago.
I did not start with any particular opinion besides "war is bad and taking hostages is bad". I started to feel stupid for not understanding the context of what the news was reporting, and felt a bit cornered by people showing disbelief over people taking no stance when genocide is happening. So I decided to read for 1-2 hours, and sure enough I started to see what pro-Palestine movements are talking about and why this is so desperate.
So for those not sure what is going on. PLEASE READ. Please start to notice what your news is reporting, the language they choose, if they report news from both sides, etc. And read past the news too.
