yeah youre totally right, for some reason when i heard debt i instently thought like bankrupt haha i wasnt looking at it like actual 'debt' but now i see what they are saying......., to buy a vinyl i had to cut into my rent too :/ hahah and luckily i won tickets to see lana this tour, otherwise i would have gone into even more debt

True and I get it, I'm not listening to the leaks, partly because I do remember the first time I listened to UV, HM, and LFL in order and don't want my NFR memories to be some child recording the cassette on her iphone 2, and partly because I feel really fucking bad that her album got leaked. I don't think she's going to get the number 1 either way, Taylor is going to hold onto that seat for a while lmao, but I agree that it's sad how many times the leaks got downloaded because the people that downloaded them might not be as eager to play songs on repeat with two weeks to play them.
 
 
Loads of people. I cut so heavily into my rent savings during those two weeks that when I'll have the rents I need to pay paid before my student loan drops was thrown back by like a month lmao. That's not debt but still. People are demolishing their overdrafts. I saw someone on an fb group say their friend / someone they knew is still in debt from getting tickets for a concert years ago (not for Lana). Sometimes being a fan of an artist really is like being in a cult.

some fans have to wait 13 years for an album (a la tool). a year isn’t a huge wait. she didn’t have to drop anything in the end, or tell us anything until everything was done. we already got six songs (eight if you count filly and the greatest) which is more than we get in a general cycle. and you can tell from the trailer she’s been working on this for a long time. it’s not like the project went dead for months.

I feel like most people who're worried about the leaks "affecting" her are not even worried about her not getting her coins but worried about her not getting a #1 debut, which is............... troubling to say the least 

in 2011 we would have jumped down anyone’s throat to defend her but in 2019 some fans will jump on any bandwagon to hate on her, for things we don’t even know if she can control.

How can people judge an album by its era. Thats just a fallacy. Y'all sound like those critics that judged lanas music by her image. Be more objective

true, but for most people we do this because we want to see her succeed, not so she gets a phat cheque$$. if her album does well it’s more likely to get noticed for grammys, awards, etc. i know her getting a #1 doesn’t affect us but it still makes us happy to see her cross that threshold.

Even stans streaming it for the first 30 times is a HUGE number and it's gone now

NFR should not be judged on the way the album rollout was handled. Could it have been handled differently? Absolutely. Lana should have never released singles so early, and should have never shared so many snippets so far in advance of the release. But we do not know what went on behind the scenes. The album could have been planned for an earlier release but something could have happened outside of Lana’s control. Communication should have been better, but it is what it is.
 
I have not listened to the leak, but I know better than to judge an album in a negative way just because I don’t like how the album rollout took place. Quality music speaks for itself, and I think NFR will speak for itself in the end.
 
Lana will always win in the end, and her work should be respected. She had put out 6 albums in a 7 years time. That is almost unheard of. She works hard and her work deserves respect. It seems to be that Lana fans have become very spoiled and feel entitled. It shouldn’t be that way.

Writing things like you don't like the record that you heard in 2 kpbs and you won't buy it and in general making reviews of the songs don't belong here but if you insist on writing them just because you don't care, just put a Norman Fucking Spoiler

You are making this decision based on a LQ iPhone recording? Seems a bit premature to me. Listening to an album in its full HQ glory can be a completely different experience.

Not too much detail, but the album is just what she said it is. It's low key, sleepy, piano-based and meandering. Clearly this is the kind of record she wanted to make right now. There's a shout-out to Joni Mitchell and Mitchel's early LA era. Maybe LDR's gotten to the point like (the admittedly much older) Kate Bush did in 2011, where she no longer feels obligated or interested in turning out 3-minute-ish pop songs.
 
Tori Amos has been producing NFR-like, piano-based gems like 'Indian Summer,' 'Garlands' and 'Oscar's Theme' for a decade, but then tacking them onto 'banger' albums as b-sides or as video bonuses, where few can find them. By doing this, she's shooting herself in the foot and almost condemning some of her best work to obscurity. Songs aren't ever going to make 'the Great American Song book' if few ever hear them.  
 
So I'm glad LDR did just what she wanted here. I especially like Bartender. 

Binch there's many months to come when the record is available for us finally. I didn't think I'd make memories with LFL after that YAIL mess but I did. You'll fall in love with it over time anyway. It'll be special in its own way in a couple years. Love to you
