    10 years ago to this very day, January 27th, 2012, Born to Die was released as Lana Del Rey’s debut album with Interscope and Polydor.

    Born to Die was first released in Ireland & Germany on the 27th, France & UK on the 30th, and in the US on the 31st. It was the 5th best-selling album of 2012 and the #1 best-selling vinyl record of the 2010s that was released during that time. The album has been regarded as one of the best albums of the 2010s by publications such as Billboard, NME, and The Guardian. Born to Die has also been certified Platinum in nearly 20 countries.
    The record sparked many cult classic hits such as Video Games, Summertime Sadness, and Blue Jeans, and has spent 416 weeks on the Billboard 200, making Lana the second female in history to have spent 8 years on the list.

    To me that just cements my thought that when there is tension it gets your creative juices flowing. No need for a "yes man", making art with someone else isn't all rainbows & unicorns. 
     
    Dan clearly views Lana as a creative and interesting artist and he really believes in her capabilities, hence why he pushed and did the most for Ultraviolence to be released and get the attention it deserved from her label.
     
    I stan and I want more.

    I just don’t see how it’s practical?
    People line up for hours so you’re gonna have people waiting for the 7pm show and the 9pm show pretty much in the same queue 
    She’s gonna be burnt out after the first set and then she’s doing it all again with barely an hours break
    I just can’t see it working, if doors are at 7 and she’s on at 8, say she’s on for an hour that makes it 9 when the next lot are due to come in? You’ve got to shift 2000 people out of a venue and swap them with another 2000 people waiting outside
    I’d understand if she was doing another show the next day or whatever but wtf is this shambles?
    Who planned this? Sky Ferreira?

    Yesterday, Lana Del Rey visited the Hotel Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, California.
    She was there with her siblings Chuck & Charlie Grant, friends Craig Stark, Jack Donoghue, and Val, and Chuck’s boyfriend Jason Pickens and their daughter Phoenix to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend. She also met some fans while out in Santa Barbara.

    The outfits, the lights, the stage, the lipsyncing, the sped up songs, Sophie being above charli watching over her, that's iconique !
