Based on the writing credits, I’ve seen that Jon Batiste penned two tracks with her. Maybe it’s for two separate songs, but I’m leaning towards Rockefeller having an interlude as an intro or outro sorry if it’s been discussed, but Wednesday, being a Lana Stan was a full-time job and I had very little time to process everything this is actual footage of me trying to catch up with everything on Wednesday

This album is already amazing to me and we’ve only heard the title track. before the COCC era, she had posted a clip from From Here to Eternity, which is Golden Age Hollywood, an era I absolutely adore. Back then, I thought it was a hint of things to come (I now know I don’t Stan Taylor haha and that almost nothing is a clue with Lana). Needless to say it wasn’t. so, to hear those grand strings on that vulnerable ballad, with those vintage inspired album covers, this is a dream to me, an almost return to HM with the lyricism of BB Not that I want the whole album to sound like that, but so far, I am a happy camper

The melody is similar on some parts, yes. When she opens the song, it reminds me of « talk to me with that whisky breath », and the chorus reminds me of « light me up like a Fourth of July ». IYLDWM is probably my favourite song ouf of BB, but I didn’t think she could top it

I was just thinking the same yesterday, when I blasted the song with a glass of wine. I could totally see Lana singing in that damn tunnel not wanting to be forgotten

I think she’ll do some sort of tour but surely will announce it after Christmas, when people might have money, hahaha

Not that I was scared (I like all of the LFL collabs), but I thought six for 14 songs was a lot… so 4 collab tracks out of 14 is good) which brings us to the real question: could Lana really release an album as cohesive as UV or HM? (COCC doesn’t count: she said herself it was cut short in its creative process because of fucking COVID).

I like your POV on it and kinda had the same thought. I do love however the vulnerability of that song. that being said learning to love oneself is not a linear line and is more like a wave 🌊 (DNC, everyone?) : it comes and it goes and maybe this song is sorta « setback » to old tropes?

Just mentioning it here… lustforlife, before committing his LB suicide, did mention that this album would have piano but much more instrumentation. And he said she had collabed with a lot of artist in many genres but they didn’t know yet what would make the album if any
