I wish he never said this, now I’m fuming about the potential that Lana had to release the second album on the 10th anniversary.
Ultra you will always be her Magnus opus

I am shocked, shook speechless , wow
There is so much on my mind but we were ROBBED big time
UV Double Album and LFL B-Side
Imagine we would be living in this timeline
First of all how did she manage to turn a supposed double album with around 40 tracks into a standard album with 11 tracks (Thank God we got the deluxe)
And then I wonder at what point she wanted to turn it into a double album. We knew she reworked UV for the most part with Dan and maybe she didn't want to toss the other songs aside she did with Rick( Fine China, Say Yes To Heaven, Your Girl etc.), so maybe that's when she planned to do a double album, I don't know, at this point we need a 2 hour documentary about the making and process of the Ultraviolence album
I guess both albums could be around 18 - 20 tracks so it would add up with the 40 songs including a few interludes??
And how can she ignore the 10 year anniversary like that like bitch it was supposed to be a double album at one point
I think we all have a good idea which songs could be have been strong contenders but oh well how can I move on with my day after news like this
Blake leak the tracklist drafts while you on it

Something that always confused me about the UV era is that she was doing 2 very different sounds at the same time...
One was rock and the other was more acoustic based...
My take on UV / UV Part 2

Shades of Cool
Brooklyn Baby
West Coast
Sad Girl
Pretty When You Cry
Money Power Glory
Fucked My Way Up To The Top
Old Money
The Other Woman

Guns & Roses
Florida Kilos
Flipside
Is This Happiness
-
Ave Maria
I Talk To Jesus
Pink Champagne

Sadly, this year it was very easy to narrow the album releases down to my top 10, even if we got a huge amount of albums we got in 2024.
AURORA - What Happened to the Heart? Kylie Minogue - Tension II Hayley Mary - Roman XS Florrie - The Lost Ones Paloma Faith - The Glorification of Sadness Bonnie McKee - Hot City Bastille - & Imagine Dragons - LOOM David Kushner - The Dichotomy Kerli - OVERSOUL I say 'sadly' because some (actually many) artists I really love released albums this year and were not it. Luckily there still was actual quality music out either way.

I loved Brat. And the Girl, so confusing remix with Lorde was definitely monumental.

I’ve been thinking this also. But did Ethel Cain play at Stagecoach in the past? If so, a Lana album with Southern gothic could work for that festival… assuming it’s done by that time

AOTY: Mahashmashana by Father John Misty. Probably my song of the year as well.
but there are many close ones: Hit Me Hard and Soft, X’s by Cigarettes After Sex, Romance by Fontaines D.C.
Its honestly been an incredible year for music

That being said I listen to chemtrails somewhat frequently, in the right mood, the stripped back vibe works. Sometimes it feels it’s missing something.

Chemtrails would have sounded so cool as a more 70s psychedelic folk inspired album, it’s a true shame. Imagine if it was sonically similar to George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass album, the religious imagery could have been truly elevated by music like this. Still, I can’t get over those vocals on Yosemite.

The way she trapped herself with that country music nonsense when she's at her peak and now we're probably looking at her longest gap between album releases...
If something doesn't work out the way you want and you don't know where to head next, it's best to stop doing it at all and start over with a new idea.

fine china
your girl
cherry blossom
nectar of the gods
living legend
if you lie down with me
say yes to heaven
pink champagne
the other side
i can fly
driving in cars with boys
prom song (if it was reworked)
These are all the songs that I think have the biggest chance of being on a double album. We know that Fine China, Your Girl, and possibly The Other Side were all mastered. Cherry Blossom, Living Legend, I Can Fly, and Say Yes To Heaven are all definitely favorites of hers. Pink Champagne, Nectar Of The Gods, and If You Lie Down With Me are kind of outliers here. They were all released (well two of them were major reworks) so she obviously liked them enough to remember them so they might be favorites too
update: i added prom song and driving in cars with boys because i saw someone point out that the date DICWB was made was only 4 months before UV came out so it was most likely already submitted then/getting ready to be so it would make sense for them to be on a part two
