Lana scares me I would never ask her about the album or any project because I'd be too afraid of her snapping at me

Oh I definitely would but I would ask her in a nonchalant way like "I hope that the new album is going well" and then she be like "yeah yeah it is" and I'd be like "oh just because everyone thought you were releasing it like you said earlier in the year but I guess things happen out of our control don't they haha" and then she'd probably kick me and spit on me

HM was done in literally a year. What is there to fix in such a short period of time? It's the second most cohesive body of work of hers after UV thanks to that quick release

Now Rob posted the edit by tropicobaby. I actually love their edits, I just think it’s interesting that not only Ariana, but her dad posted an edited photo of her- not the original. Idk but maybe Lana should take that as a sign that maybe she should be a little less lazy with the visuals she does with her sister? lol

Her attending a Jonas Brothers concert feels like something out of a wormhole

She looks so cute. Wish someone asked her about the album though.

Idk where else to write this but I miss when stanning Lana was actually fun. Even though the LFL era could have been better, I remember being so excited and positive about the whole thing. Lately it's hard to be excited about anything because she herself is kind of brushing off her art like it doesn't mean that much to her. I mean yeah she is excited about the poetry book but she forgets that she was always a visual artist. Why is she abandoning that side of things? Remember when she said she wanted to live her life like a work of art? I'm sorry but where is the art? Perhaps as a fandom we have been too used to consistent releases... but idk... this just doesn't feel the same

    Jonas Brothers? Legends? Nope

I just hope she's not doing that to this album and she's just in the middle of mixing or something.

Her albums are usually best before she gets too nit picky. That’s how she ruined LFL and ended up adding a little too much to HM as well.

That god she had limited time with Dan A and couldn’t keep going back and redoing things.

I just wish she’d say SOMETHING about the record. I get that she’s excited for her book but just a sentence saying “And my record is being finished right now, you’ll get to hear it in late spring/early summer”

Dan might not want to again. After what happened during UV with Interscope, they kept denying his productions even tho they’re superior and he might not want to have to go through that trouble again

This post got me wondering about her references and it made me think of what she said in the Harper's Bazaar interview:

It makes me kind of sad to think that no matter how much we analyse her lyrics, sometimes we can't know everything because of how obscure her references are. And now she even kinda confirms that very bluntly in the interview

I know it’s hard to be soft
I know it hurts to be kind
I know that when love is lost it’s only fear in disguise
But I still believe the world is beautiful
And I still believe only the weak ones are cruel

I know so many boys and girls
    People all across the world
We walk and talk and think alike
And we all cry the same tears at night

You don’t know me like you think you do.
Ever since my dreams changed I came crashing down like a paper plane
But nothing ever stays the same and all I know is life is strange

I carry along a feel of unease
I want to belong like the birds in the trees
But I’m a machine. An emotional being.
And I smile with tears in my eyes - waving goodbye to the suckers in my rearview mirror Cause true hearts, they never lie

I like to think about how we all look from afar
People driving fancy cars look like beetles to the star
The missiles and the bombs sound like symphonies gone wrong
And if there is a God they’ll know why it’s so hard

You’re not living in this world alone.
We all live in the same universe where the stars collide as the planets turn

    Find me
    In another place and time
All of the days that we spend apart my love is a planet revolving your heart

I can see the flowers now, and the greenery
I take a breath of air and I feel free

    No longer too afraid.

What I don’t get is Chuck isn’t that bad of a videographer or photographer. Look at Jessie Jo’s “Fire of Love” music video. It has the vibes the Cherry music video/LFL era could’ve had. I think it’s how much say Lana has now in the editing or the final choices that makes the videos/photos- even for NFR- underwhelming. Is it bad I wish Lana would focus more on her song-writing, poetry and work on her live vocals?

DIY means Do It Yourself. In an Ultraviolence interview, she said Dan Auerbach seems to be part of that “DIY club”, which is a term she refers to artists she has a lot of respect for- they do the work themselves; they have a specific vision and passion for their music so they’ll do the hard work to perfectly execute it. Florence, Marina and FKA Twigs all are very independent women, so it’s no surprise Lana is friends with them and admires their music. I also think in a way, she’s been inspired by their hobbies and side projects to do her own... like Florence writing her poetry/lyric book (“Useless Magic”), and Marina’s book + painting/drawing hobby.

I love how Love part of the album is probably presented by nature because it's pure, beautiful, dangerous from time to time and just something ppl can't live without, just like love. And Fear is probably city part presenting fear of "people acting anti-human", fear of society and where it's going, fear of how technology is slowly but surely taking over the world and ppl.

I mean, you can say that I'm full of shit or cringy, but I said what I said and that's that on that. Can't wait to watch it.
