This. Her singing about being one of the last white women with good intentions really fell short.

He is a hateful trumper. She does not care enough about the hate he holds (and spreads) or the people affected by it not to marry him. That's not a drama, it's a fact. She will not pick any of you because you try to sugarcoat it. She will also not divorce him cause the rest of us does not like him. Fact is her whe L4L act just lost a ton of credibility.

This is what I came here to say. Two of my favourite songs ever from her but they make me feel like I’m going deaf because I can’t hear anything properly.

but he didn't. She was pretty f-ing big before she met him. He just got the the critics to rile up behind her. Before Jack, she was a bit more critically divisive, but not even by that much.
let's not forget that Jack is yet to produce a single song for Lana that charted on the Billboard 100. An argument can be made that he's more closed than opened doors for her, at least in terms of commercial success. Her last number 1 album was LFL, after all.
So yeah, she's kissing his ass a little too much.

My point is that she's THE Lana Del Rey and she needs to stop acting like she was nothing before they crossed paths--he did not elevate her art to a so-called God-tier level all on his own, to the point where she cannot envision a future without him on board.
She needs to give herself more credit, and also more credit to past collaborators. Jack Antonoff did not make Lana Del Rey. That's all.

Clock it.
In fact, Emile Haynie made Lana Del Rey, tbh.

Well, I didn't follow everything about it but it seemed like a great night, with Lana resplendent and reminiscent of the glamour of her early days, she's beautiful.
As for Jack, he seems to be kind, careful, a beautiful soul in life. He pays attention to others and seems to take care of others.
For his music, he knocked Lana down for me.
I rarely, if ever, listen to her new songs. I haven't even listened to OB in its entirety yet, and I don't know why but her work has definitely been boring and uninteresting since 2019.
It pains me to write this because she still sings very well, she will remain a superior artist, her post-Covid albums remain a reference when you compare the crap of now but pfffffff, I don't know, I'm slowly losing interest.
Her simplicity and authenticity as a person is always very pleasant in this environment though.
On the other hand, as soon as an unreleased song comes out, I feel it like a new record, it's exciting and I come back to her. Because it feels good to remind us that she sang so many gems before.
For me, Lana is really the woman and the artist before this period. I mean, if musical excellence had to have a name, it would be Lana Del Rey between 2010 and 2017. Honestly, everything was perfect, intimate, beautiful, sincere and so on.
A little corner of the old Internet that was quite dark, with disturbing videos, it was really cool. That's all her. She transformed herself and her old albums created her myth.
I have a lot of trouble with her new records, and I find her strangely overrated today (it's hard to write it) when her peak was clearly Born to die, Ultraviolence an absolute masterpiece, Honeymoon and LFL to a lesser extent. Let's not forget her soundtracks, absolutely sublime, stunning. I don't know...
For me something broke artistically and it always makes me understand that artists have this need for success sometimes, for recognition and that they have to format themselves to stay in the race. I also don't like the fact that she became a "trend", at the wrong time, Tiktok is not Tumblr and it's pretty brutal let's say. Her songs are sullied by stupid videos, but that's the lot of all artists, they make their living on it.
So Jack is not a bad guy, but someone who influenced her in the wrong musical direction. Softer, more peaceful certainly, apart from Blue Banisters, nothing is good in my opinion, that's just my opinion. At least, Lana is too "big", it doesn't fit with him. He can't highlight her and the albums fall flat. If the "country", "ethereal girl" side worked at the beginning, it becomes redundant now and painful that even reproduced, it becomes its own caricature.
Lana will always remain that artist, special, intimate. Inspiring and touching. Gifted. An old soul that we view like an old book, old memories. Her old songs are a refuge. But there you go, I don't understand why she has so much success today with such average songs. If she had started her career the other way around, I would probably have missed it and so many others in my opinion.
She is happier and less tortured, I admit that making such heavy albums must weigh on the mind, but not everything must disappear either eh
(ONCE AGAIN I WROTE TOO MUCH SORRRRRRY )

I go back and forth on how I feel about him. Sometimes I really like his production and the work he does with Lana. Other times I feel like it falls very flat. It could be that I just miss the cinematic sound she had, and I felt like after Honeymoon she abandoned it. I still love all her music but pre-LFL had this atmospheric quality that I miss from the more recent work save a few tracks.
You also can’t deny his impact. He’s been involved in so many amazing albums from Taylor, Sabrina, Lana, now Kendrick. His influence is widespread and he’s probably the most well known producer right now.

I think, just think but not entirely sure (almost though), that these three were just YouTube rips she put in the album for some reason. The Spek for each shows lossy af files even from FLAC or WAV CD/Qobuz/Tidal rips.
Now, it's true we got lossless leaks for Cherry Blossom and Nectar of the Gods + 320 kbps for Living Legend, so that's why the leaks sound better. But I could swear the released versions are just some YouTube/SoundCloud rips. Essentially, rips from the leaks so that would be the same mix than the leaks, just in worse quality

tulsa jesus freak and dark but just a game. the instrumental just sounds way too compared to the vocals. the bass in dark but just a game barely makes any noise unless you want to blast your eardrums (and speakers) out with her vocals and the mixing on tulsa is just too....idk, sporadic? her vocals once again overpower the instrumental

i love chemtrails as an album but so many of the instruments sound “muted” to me, like they compressed the fuck out of each individual track and turned them all down (sorry if idk what i’m talking about) like the songs would be SO much better if they were allowed to “flow” more freely, like they feel like they’re being choked to me idk how to explain it.

The fact she was so quick to make sure to let everyone know that she in fact did not grow up rich when everyone was saying her trailer park lifestyle was fake and that her dad was some rich CEO… But now that she’s been accused of being a republican for months it’s radio silence

I won’t go deep into it here but mostly the production feels too simplistic, lyrics are overly sentimental and surface-level, leaning into cliches rather than introspective, poetic storytelling. I don’t love the majority of her collabs so Jack being on the song doesn’t help. I know she literally says it’s a simple song but I can’t connect with it like others seem to. It gives me major live laugh love vibes.

Born to Die - Honeymoon was an incredible and untouchable run of albums. But everything shes put out recently (COCC - OB) has been so disappointing that it actually makes me miss Lust For Life era which I wasn't even a huge fan of back then.
NFR is good but it's missing everything that made me fall in love with her music in the first place. It's the last album from her I can listen to front to back.
Every album release I get more and more bored, they all have a handful of good songs but as far as overall replay value goes they just don't have it for me. The music she's making now is where she's at with her artistry and people seem to love it but idk... It makes me sad lol.
And that T Swift collab kinda ruined being a fan of her. A bunch of Swiffers suddenly became fans and idc what anyone says there was a noticeable change in the fandom after that happened. Lipsters have always been crazy but in a very different and more interesting way. Now a lot of the content is just trash because a bunch of locals (or whatever term people use now) are suddenly fans.
And I agree with what someone said up thread, I think a lot of people talking about she looks sooooo good now (she ALWAYS has) mostly think so because she lost weight. Idc I liked thick Lana, she's gorgeous and she has her own style no matter what weight she is...
