Yeah Coachella was stupid but so is looking for america. I think Coachella is a bad song but lfa is worse. Lana’s cold takes are boring and make bad songs. Also looking for america makes me psychically cringe, which Coachella doesn’t do so I have to give credit where credit is due. All of Lana’s attempts to be woke are embarrassing.

We've waited for this album for almost a painful year, so I don't care.

I must say I was a bit dissapointed after reading all of the praise in this thread. That being said it might be a grower.

I'm not dissapointed, but can understand why you do. I'm sure it will have more sense on the context of the album. Just right before Bartender. It will kill us, the album as a whole. The Greatest may be a momentum, but it's quite simple in structural terms. It's very beautiful, and the lyrics are heartbreaking, as well as her vocal delivery (it fucking breaks me when she sings "I miss the music"). Miss Lana keeps evolving.

I think fame is watering down what made her so great in the first place. Yeah, she's been famous for awhile now, but as it grows, her theatricality and effort fade, in performance and in the visual side to her art (music videos, stage outfit and presence). Is she running out of stories to tell?

She wont acknowledge the gays for some reason. Like...honestly if she can make a whole song telling women to stand proud and strong..she can keep that same energy for the gays that pay her bills

I know a few of you think it's a dramatic reaction to be upset/concerned over this but I really fucking am lol. I was able to think that a one off visit was either exploration of her own values or art even, but I see no reason to return unless she's interested in the community or what they're preaching and that is unacceptable to me. Like this does upset me because it's another fucking artist making bank off the backs of LGBT fans who really doesn't give a fuck about the community or the history. These are the same motherfuckers who call me a dyke on the bus, who said I was a weird lesbian in primary school... I just cannot wrap my head around this. I love this community but I will unstan if this goes on without explanation

There's an interview where Lana says her dad thought the opening line of Cola was hilarious whereas her mom didn't approve. I get the feeling maybe her mom was more concerned with seeming proper, preserving decorum and whatnot. The line in Old Money "my father's love was always strong, my mother's glamour lives on and on" is interesting. I  mean, she's comparing her father's love to her mother being glamorous, kind of a downgrade. The fact that she mentions her father a lot ("I pledge allegiance to my dad for teaching me everything he knows," "that's the way my father made his life an art," "I heard the streets were paved with gold, that's what my father said") whereas her mom is rarely mentioned in her music (the unflattering "My Momma" and that line in "Old Money") makes me think her father was simply more influential and important in her life. If the Cola quote is anything to go by, her mother seems to disapprove of weird, off-beat stuff like saying your pussy tastes like Cola, and Lana is a weird, off-beat person, so that may have been a point on contention in Lana's family life. Moreover, My Momma shows her disapproving of a boyfriend. Dear Elliott also refers to a boyfriend who was "not approved." Now, My Momma also suggests her mother had a thing for her boyfriend, which is where the song gets weird. And despite Lana claiming her songs are 100% autobiographical, we can't take them at face value.
 
Personally, I don't think her mother didn't love her or whatever. They didn't jibe in some senses; maybe Mom wanted Lana to fit into society more whereas Dad was cool with it. That's what I get from her music and the rare times she's mentioned her. We know so little about her that I don't think it's fair to draw any conclusions about their relationship.

I really miss her homemade videos, like Video Games esque ones. There's just something about them that I can genuinely enjoy despite them not being high production or whatever.

Tomorrow Never Came is probably the worst song in her released discography, and one of the worst in her entire overall discography.   

I really miss her nostalgic old Hollywood glamour days, not to say I want her to go back to that but songs like Hollywood’s Dead are lovely, plus I adored her iconic 50s and 60s inspired looks; the curls, the bouffant, the make up were all really gorgeous.

I want homemade videos again :/ it's better than recycled footage or the over produced style that love and lfl had 

Born To Die and Paradise era's were something else... melancholically glamorous and beautiful.. idk but that image that Lana created (the mix of modern and old americana + home footage's) ughh i want that back. Say what you want, those were the best era's
