  2. Hello everyone! I have just moved 100+ comments to the Random Lana Thread. Can I please remind you to keep on topic, and to actually discuss Chemtrails related thoughts here. If you find yourself writing a long post about a previous Lana del Rey album with no mention of Chemtrails, writing about what producer you want Lana to work with for LDR8, or just having a post mentioning 'Dan Auerbach' I would recommend you consider if this is the best topic for it. You are more than welcome to start new topics if you think there's a gap in discussion. I will be distributing warning points for users who can't remain on topic. Thank you!
  3. I was in the winter of my life and the men I met along the road were my only summer
  4. The controls were people's #1 complaint about the game. They're essentially gone now. Now everyone can enjoy the game and also shut the fuck up and just play through it. It's NOT a bad game. Anywayyyyyy. Oracle of X games would be perfect for Switch 'Link Awakening's' style remakes, but I am very keen for Minish Cap to be revisited too! Also I got AoC but haven't played yet - I am balls deep in Guild Wars 2 atm and it is consuming my life. Help.
  5. The way we called this. omfg I'm not gonna lie, I was listening to the new controls and was like "fuck" but then the BUTTON ONLY MODE. I'm so excited! ALL HAIL OUR SEXY OVERLORD GHIRAHIM
  6. Leaaaaaaaaaad me to waaaaaaaaar with your brilllllllliannnnnnnnnnnnnnnntttttttttttttttttttttttirection
  7. The biggest disappoint is that Annie didn't get to ask about the covers album or about the poetry - actually before the interview started Annie said that Lana had a book of poetry "dropping soon" ?? . I assume whoever organised the interview would've provided her with some talking points hence Annie being totally caught off guard and being unsure how to navigate away from the racism defence, but the segue for this would've been her 2020 question, and then the only time music got brought up was when someone at that exact moment felt the need to interrupt the entire interview to fix a chimney.
  8. I wish the video had cut to black and played this at the end.
  9. All g! Good discussion flows both ways so carry on. I will add that I'm sure when Annie asked 'How was your 2020' she probably assumed Lana would talk about topics like recording music or poetry, and didn't expect her to begin talking about politics.
  10. The way Annie is trying to save her career by changing the subject.
  11. omfg the alternate cover https://cdn.hmv.com/r/w-1280/p-webp/hmv/files/f0/f004e2e1-3459-4289-9a36-0d07f69ca5dd.jpg
  12. Okay . . . looks like it's no merch for me again for the third (fourth with Violet?) era in a row lol.
  13. I am floored by her ignorance. Maybe we could start a Kickstarter campaign to send her a copy of Robin DiAngelo's "White Fragility".

  16. . . . Okay, um, I guess I will just accept the mixing must be extremely subtle in these elements since they sound basically non existent despite that grand reflection from Jack. Did he point out time stamps on where to listen out to these? (EDIT: Actually, I think I hear the horns on the chorus? Not sure about the flutes) Fascinating observations, thank you for voting the bullet and paying to listen, and then reporting back to us!
  17. Yes, this is the huge problem. Her credibility really took a hit at one of her public images' lowest points when she doubled down on her question for the culture, told every hater to fuck off and promised she was going in guns blazing with a new album on 5 Sept, and then she didn't release Chemtrails, the date passed by and she finally said a off-the-cuff shitty non-comment to imply it was delayed (and didn't clarify to when). After NFR's year-long fuck around, I decided that all things Lana said would be with a grain of salt, but with the audacity she had on display this year I didn't think she would be okay with being called disingenous (or at worst, a LIAR) - but apparently she didn't care about her word or transparacy (again). SO a few months later, promising to release a different album and not coming through again is really painful. I am not extremely invested in the repertoire, but I like the musical direction and have a sliver of hope she will follow through on her own word - although each day passing looks less and less likely and I CAN'T BELIEVE I GAVE HER THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AGAIN. Like, anything could be considered an album (or EP, it could be like 6 tracks and would be fine) but I'm not sure I could ever trust her with anything again if she can't get this out on time. She clearly has SOME material finished so come on Lana, throw up whatever you have on Spotify or BANDCAMP, say that the handful of songs are a gift for your fans, and keep to your word!
  18. I didn't really pay much attention to @RormanNockwell @Bunny Mozart or @recklessdaughter when y'all first suggested The Wizard of Oz references were hinting to something but . . . with those tornados . . . I am starting to believe we're not in Kansas anymore.
  19. I STILL HAVEN'T RECOVERED! The teaser makes it looks like an sensorial Aronovsky horror, like violently striking visuals. I'm so looking forward to it!!
  20. We should bump a few more dead topics from 7 years ago. This one is a corker!
  21. @Angelic Tropico you have truly exposed me for the brat I am. I just hate incompetance and simply don't find your lazy rationale good enough when there is ample information readily available all across the forum and the internet to define this. There is even a Search Bar in the top right corner, which I use to make sure I'm not repeating a question. I made a joke about people not being able to use Google as you were the most recent of a line of many people that requested an answer, and you interpreted that into a personal attack on yourself. Correct, I am under no obligation to answer someone and I actually really want Elle to edit her post and put it on there as it keeps coming up. By the way, It's on the first page, and second page (not the third page though, sorry), and You could probably just Google it I am honestly very sorry that my humour translates as flippant and abrasive. But as this is Lanaboards I think you're in for a shock if you don't anticipate a level of dry humour. I am flip-flopping over what level of ATTiTuDe to give you but I hope this exchange makes you a bit more resilient to online discussion as if people ask the same questions over and over in real life it gets really, really annoying and makes you look totally hapless. I will continue this over private message if you want to fight a bit more or you can report my posts to the moderating team but this is the last time I will respond here as it seems we just have different interpretations of what is good enough when it comes to finding out information, and unlike a definition, this is subjective based on our own ethics. I look forward to you asking more questions in other threads on takeitdoenboards.
  22. Girl, chill. I am Australian - so as a fellow non-American, I also did not possess intrinsic knowledge about the 'weird ass American songbook'. Until I Googled it - specifially the term that Lana used when she said she would release “a digital record of American standards and classics for Christmas”. So I googled "what are american standards & classic songs" and the top result is Wikipedia. Which you actually asked for when you said Sorry if the 'attitude' offends you but I'm actually referring to attitude in general, as we have actually discussed the definition multiple times already in this thread so but now you bring it up yeah I don't know why you get a free pass to just drop in and ask what it is without doing any research or putting in the effort yourself. I guess, but also to quote the Great American Songbook Foundation: Add that to her release of Summertime which is from Porgy and Bess, and saying she wanted to include Patsy Cline covers the era is just so obvious?? And to answer your question, Puttin' On the Ritz would be considered a classic (and is actually in the Great American Songbook)
  23. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Songbook @Elle maybe you can add this straight to the top post since this comes up like every week and no one knows how to use Google except me.
  24. YOU KNOW I LIVE FOR THE TINSEL I just can't get OVER the fact she has a sense of humour. omfg I love her. BREATHLESS is such an inventive cover!!
