AND JOSHUA CAME DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN WITH A TABLET IN HIS HAND AND TOLD ME THAT HE LOVED ME AND THEN GHOSTED ME AGAIN
-
His new album S16 was released a few days a go. On a first listen I like it. It's dramatic and dark, very romantic orchestration and a lot more subdued than The Golden Age.

I can't remember if I posted this previously but I am really loving Pang at the moment, it's such a great mix of interesting textures and sounds, but brilliant pop as well. Just listened to The Gate extended and it's super spacey and ethereal, and a track that if you cue it up serves as kind of the perfect closer for the album.

The video made me like the song more. I feel she is very proud of her growth and this feels like a personal insight and like a diary into how she feels when she's on the road and has no one to channel her love into, so she surrounds herself with people who love her to remind her how she feels. Like the song it's not groundbreaking but it feels authentic and wholesome. On a side note, it feels like she used 1SE to make this.

Let Me Love You Like a Woman (Single) - OUT NOW: October 16th, 2020
takeitdoen replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
The song is pleasant. The lyrics actually reminds me a lot of I Talk to Jesus, especially in the sentiment of 'I want to get out of this life and I want you to come with me' feel. I'm not sure why people are raving about the 'bridge'. Other than some (weak) head-voice vocals it just goes back to the chorus. Nothing remarkable happens with the accompaniment and the chord progression doesn't change so it just a non-event. -
I agree. Edit: my boyfriend wrote this post

Have you heard this remix? I think it's even better than the original.

Obviously he just wanted to post an image that only had her and him in it so cropped everyone else out - it's not that deep. People do it all the time. The next great Instagram crusade.

Hello everyone! I didn't see these posted so here are a few pictures of what the album looks like. Click on them to Zoom in: The credits for every track are as follows: Lana Del Rey, Composer/Author, Song/ATV Music Publishing Written by Lana Del Rey Published by Sony/ATV Music Publishing Produced by Jack Antonoff & Lana Del Rey Vocals by Lana Del Rey Piano* by Jack Antonoff Engineered by Jack Antonoff & Laura Sisk Assistant Engineered by Jon Sher & John Rooney Mixed by Jack Antonoff & Laura Sisk Mastered by Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound, assisted by Will Quinnell Miscellaneous Credits Recorded at Conway Recording Studios, Electric LadyStudios, Rough Customer, United States. *additional instruments played by Jack include mellotron, drums, Wurlitzer, bass, guitar, keyboards, 12 String acoustic guitar, electric guitar. Sadly there's no credits for other samples on the record which leads me to believe they're not 'original' and simply from a sample pack (I was hoping there would be a credited source for the voices on Bare Feet and the sax solo on 1000 Fires but) which requires no attribution. A little weird it's laid out like this and the packaging a little disappointing, but I've seen worse!

The Official EDM just came out: https://zaphod.vvhp.net/viewemail?con=24465726&cmp=16820&act=753860&subj=0&sec=d457beff08f3&webversionpage=1 Um hello, Lana del Rey, TAP Management, Universal, Simon + Schuster, literally ANYONE who works on this team - I live in Australia and the links in your EDM are ALL broken and NONE of them lead to the Official Store and NOTHING can be bought. Honestly, what is the point of sending this to your global audience when the links don't work outside the country. I am in Australia and ALL of the links to the store are broken still. Please pass this on to the webmanager and/or marketing team. Do you want me to buy this merchandise or not?! Even if I wanted to buy the Collector’s Edition where the hell would I even buy it. This is such a joke.

It's me again for my THIRD post in a row! The band announced that their new record will be called Californian Soil. The title track and next single will premiere in 2 hours! NME have published a great article with some comments from Hannah here: https://www.nme.com/news/music/london-grammar-confirm-new-single-and-album-title-californian-soil-2765888 Also, they did a cute cover of Blinding Lights

Omg @Formation your taste! New track is brooding and beautiful. It has a dark energy which sort of sounds like an underwater whirlpool that will trap you if you get to close. I like that the sound is a little more reserved too. For me the new tracks go: Goliath > Hoirzons... > Pale Yellow

As if anyone would believe that if it was posted by Rorman! Lanaboards only believes news from insiders who take the form of mythical folklores!

For the people who listened in, was Break Up with Your Girlfriend still abhorrent due to the mixing (where you couldn't hear the vocals)?

I understand what you're coming from since it's a ~famous person~, but people post all kinds of casual stuff on Instagram of friends/partners. It's no big deal if her boyfriend wants to post a little something of her and him getting nails done since that's a way of sharing themselves being social on social media. It would NOT be the same thing if you or I just barged in, stood right in front of her, and flopped out a phone to zoom in on her toes and posted that to social media since we have no personal connection to her . . .

idk who needs to read this, but the lyrics in the chorus "Go find yourself a man who's strong, and tall, and Christian" isn't advice to go whip-tappin' on the prairie, it's chiding the other party that they're basic and that they don't belong together. The song is a warning about being damaged goods. But make it UPBEAT AND COUNTRY

Day 1 of living in a world where I heard Sufjan sing "I shit my pants and wet the bed" Blessed days.
-
Perfect sum up! I have just finished listening and haven't fully formed my mind, but I know I like it and considering how much I've come to love the singles I think it'll be a slow burn. Stand outs for me are -Tell Me You Love // by far my favourite -The Ascension // if people like Carrie and Lowell this sounds like it could be a B-Side -Sugar The vocals on LAAAAANDSLIDE are great too.
-
She sounds so great, very playful vocals - the way she whoops off the note with scoops remind me of her early work (particularly the chorus of Off to the Races).
