Please let this be a surprise high budget film out of nowhere. The homemade/homemade looking videos are ok once and a while but they get boring. I want more videos like BTD, National Anthem, and Ride.

i don't really think that lizzy and lana look that different if you consider how different lana looked during the beginning of the born to die era, the paradise era and nowadays.
But back to the "transition" from lizzy to lana. the biggest differences i've noticed were her lips, her hair and the way she styled it and completely different make-up like she changed the way she used to have her eyebrows, she used those long fake-lashes and this whole cat-eye thing. She also used to be very thin at the beginning of the btd era which made her face look very slim and her jaw more defined.

I think it's so interesting how she has so many looks and styles. LDR was trailer trash, BTD was a beauty queen and UV is stripped back and natural. Her looks really reflect her music, it's so cool.

Yeah, this song makes me think of someone I recently lost. It makes me think of having had them a part of my childhood, through my teenagehood; all the way until now, and then losing them. "Blue Hydrangea" reminds me of the serenity and peace that came along with the friendship. The song reminds me of the simple days, the times where everything was just.... simple. This song also reminds me of the care-free and beautiful friendship we had. The "Where did you go?" part always gets to me because when you lose someone, don't you find yourself asking that question? And the "the girl you used to call the queen of New York City" part: the friend I'm talking about loved NYC he always said that. Then in the middle of the song, I am reminded of the price that comes with growing up and finding your own place in this world... and the feeling of loneliness that comes along with that. The chorus makes me think of my friend so much, that if he called me right now, I would go visit him. If he came to me right now, I would run to him. Sometimes when I listen to this song, I can imagine us running straight to each other in an open field, and embracing. My explanation doesn't really make sense but, to me, it does. It's a sad song for me.

Note: when I say someone I recently "lost", I don't mean we cut ties or our friendship waned and died on its own - I mean that I actually lost this friend, in death. (just wanted to be clear)

so yes, this song also makes me think of death!

I think it's about loving someone so much, even when they've hurt you and left you. Loving someone unconditionally, despite the fact that they don't love you back. "If you change your mind, I'll come come come" - they love and are with somebody else, but you're still holding on to the hope that they'll change their mind. The "blue hydrangea", to me, sounds like Lana is remembering things that remind her of her lover - fragments of memories from when they were together.

i'm telling you this bitch feels nothing but undercurrents of abstract emotion every now and then, and everything else is ruled by her head

i think there has to be some kind of inverse relationship with emotionality and incisive eloquence in communication. she's so good at articulating herself, but most of that is an intellectual process. i think she's confusing because there's such a vast disconnect between what she feels and what she thinks, whereas with most people, the two processes are more intertwined (rather than paradoxical)

a lot of elements probably factor into the outcome of the interview too. how her day is going, the vibe of the interviewer, whether she feels more emotional or more numb, etc on that particular day. maybe her connection with god is more spiritual (abstract) but detached (mentally); and on this particular day she decided to share her more rational perspective on the matter? who knows with her bipolar ass

    I didn't really like it,
Born To Die era videos>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>UV era videos so far

Hopefully she'll be back at doing BJ/NA style videos cause I'm not really enjoying the videos this era

It's nice but still waiting on one of those high production videos like BTD, Ride, or National Anthem.

Maybe I'm not understanding the beauty of it or something but yeah, it's ok.

i love it, i had low expectations after seeing the snippet.

i think its one of her best videos but i wish it was edited better. Like the opening scene shouldve just been the shot with camera moving down the highway with no ugly daddy eyebrows superimposed over it... it wouldve been very eerie and would fit with the intro of the song

I'm so afraid she's going to quit music after the Ultraviolence era. I have yet to see her in person and she has the best music rn imo. She can't quit.

Ride imo but that could be because I relate to it so well. It just sounds depressing to me plus the fact that she's saying she's so lonely, left out, misunderstood, and doesn't know what to do in her situation that all she can do is ride.

I still prefer the original West Coast Rob Orton Mix over the album/single/music video version tbh.

In no order, Brooklyn Baby, Money Power Glory, and Old Money are my favorites after the first listen.
Guns and Roses is my least favorite.
I love the new version of Black Beauty.
The album is SO different from BTD/Paradise.
I love how cohesive the album is.
It's hard for me to really see how I feel about the album after only listen and which songs I like over the others.
But generally after the first listen, I'm very happy with the album, lived up to my expectations and the wait.

Great interview! Makes me wanna go to LA right now and go to the beach and drive late at night.

I hope we get to hear the original Ultraviolence without Auerbach's production later on.

    The 911 part though
