omg yes it's so costy, that why I bought a tablet to read digital comics (there is a lot of good sales on Comixology). I don't like to read a book on a screen and I don't think it's very good for the eyes health but it's ok with comic books.
 
Stephanie Brown is the only Batgirl I don't know well, I have the collection but I have to read it yet. If you wanna dig her Spoiler side there's a Batman collection called "War Games" where she's important. I'm taking a serious look at the Guild, it looks so cool <3

I never read Watchmen but I know it's one of the biggest thing that was made. If you're interested by this dark adult vibe, the Miller's Dark Knight series can be great.
