I'm on two seats with this revelation : I like "Honeymoon", my only problem with it is that after a while, the songs all sort of sound the same. I love the fact that almost every single one of them sounds as if they could be the soundtrack of a movie. So for that aspect, I'd be down for.

From what I got (I can't listen back to it, for the moment either) she was talking to a journalist, who was asking her if she would put music out soon, and if it would be a surprise. She said it wouldn't be a surprise, we would know when it's coming but that yeah, it was coming soon. In any case, she's working on music that she's happy about. And when she was asked what type of sound it had, apparently she said that it was similar to Honeymoon, same esthetic but with a more "inner dialogue" (whatever that may be )

NATIONAL ANTHEM APPRECIATION POST First of all, let's talk about the introduction. Whether we talk about the rockish, electric guitar-driven demo-one, or the majestic violin album-one... They're both gorgeous ! She's so cute. Say what you want, Lana is no rapper, but this verse flows so well, and it starts to paint a picture in my mind ... The MELODY on the bold part is just so beautiful, it really struck me when I heard it for the first time. The lyrics combined with the ascending and descending scales is simple yet so striking. Cute Lana making a comeback Special mention for the demo where that guy says "Yes, of course I'll buy you diamonds". Do we know if that comes from a movie or something ? Once more, the flow on this is spot on, imo. And the "Dark and lonely" is so poignant, especially when you watch the music video and that she's gazing with her beautiful eyes. So put on mascara and your party dress Come on... Who does that ? I remember a review talking about how ovation was spanned over several syllables. And the following line is beautiful, imo. The harmonies ... In conclusion : National Anthem is a great song, from its demo stages to its official release, including its music videos. The homemade one is cute, I don't watch it a lot and don't remember a lot of it tbh, except her look and the way she dances in front of that window As for the "professional" one, the intro is quite striking and the photography/videography/whatever you call that is overall beautiful. I looove the part where she butters her toast while smoking (hence my avi). Any girl who'd do that would fail miserably, I feel, and yet it looks so simple and elegant with her ... ASAP as JFK is a great idea. Also, this video introduced us to her first monologue right ? Beautiful, too... (Although she didn't write this one, right ?) I rest my case.

The guys who are being honored, and who are important in Interscope ? It sounds as if their relation is good ? Are those the people we're always complaining about, regarding her management and videos ?

I'm not a fan of the flat hair that parts from the middle of her head but I like the color and the curls.

I watched the video I made a couple of times while working on it and the Freak MV just once so actually, I tend to forget about the footage used being in synch with Freak. I think that put together with UV, the story is beautifully told. But you can still imagine it the way you want it. For instance, I decided to include the original UV music video, where's she's going to the altar. I thought that was an illustration of the enduring love she had for her cult leader, becoming his wife, but also a sacrifice. The water scenes ? Once more, you can interpret it as you want. Nymphs. Baptism. After life... Who knows. That's the beauty of it ? (It WAS too long, though haha )

You know what, I actually enjoyed the video ! Sure there are some flaws : the Debussy part with ONLY the underwater scenes, the fact that you can sense that it's recycled ... But when I place this video in the context of UV, it makes me happy : the rural scenery, the sun, her clothes, "Jim" ... It's like justice was made (I too, have a UV video coming up by the way ! ) And I'm a big detractor of everything that's come after Tropico (Shades of Cool passed the test, though) Edit : here's the music video I was talking about, if anybody's interested :

I couldn't say what direction I want for her next album. On one hand, yes I love BTD and UV and a lot of HM but I wouldn't want her to recycle herself... However, I would love to see a more "cheerful" Lana. I'm sorry I bring that song every time, but "Queen of Disaster" is a pure gem !

A live DVD allows you to make as many sharp notes as you want, since you can dubb it as much as you want; Just look good !

It's weird cause acting is not really her forte but she can express such deep emotions with her face, especially her eyes (National Anthem, Born to Die..)

Oh... Well... Of course it's great exposure ! And she'll surely make a nice rendition of the song. I wonder if she'll take the classy route or the querky Haus if Gaga football inspired costume route ^^

The color scheme is very nice, although the fact that it's a selfie spoils the main picture a bit...
