From the beginning, I was intrigued by Lana’s voice, awkward performances and her strange musical choices which had very little in common with top40 pop or the alternative trends. Her uncanniness attracted me as well as her anti-popstar status: Lana is a far cry from the confident, “in your face personality” of most popstars. I always felt that she’s the D. Lynch of pop, one of the Mulholland Drive girls, being supremely divisive in the business just as Lynch is.
 
So, I’m a little nervous before this new album because I don’t know how a more earnest and political/social lyrical content will suit her style or where is she heading musically. She can move towards a Cat Power type of vulnerability but I’m not sure that her audience or the critics will accept it. I don’t expect either any Beyonce or Solange type of pop social/political statements. If we analyze Lynch’s work, at a superficial level it seems that there is little political or social commentary in his movies, but in masterpieces like Blue Velvet it’s clear that he’s depicting the dark side of the American dream, the hypocrisy of the American way of life. I would be enthralled if Lana would do something like that and if she could put it in some beautiful musical form preserving her uncanniness. Love it’s a good song but it lacks the punchiness and the menace that I would like to hear from her so I hope that the rest of the album it’s different

Face it, LDR is not a cover queen. Paradise is sultry and may be her best looking one to date, but it's still simple.
 
This is what we know about Lana when it comes to album covers...
She doesn't do gimmicks (we will never see her body contorted into a motorcycle or see her with black wires wrapped around her head) She doesn't like over processed graphic design. She likes things simple. Simple photo with simple font. The End.

i keep looking at the btd cover next to the lfl cover, you can really see the difference in her spirit, it makes me so happy   her smile is so wonderful, i don't want her to ever stop doing it. i'm so proud of her 
 
 

I think it's fucking STUNNING but doesn't fit with the aesthetic created by the album trailer - it fits 'Love' perfectly but I'm still unsure as to the direction of the album at this point

Yall aint fans. When shes in a moody and dark place for her albums, you complain. When shes bubbly and dedicating a whole album to her fans you're ungrateful. I'll be sure to not check this thread for a very long time because the negativity based on her direction is appalling and disgraceful. Especially the people who have such hatred for chuck and nicole nodlands work. Have some respect. Those two women were there for Lana before we even knew about her and they produced some of her best photography. And I love Chuck, she is such a great asset to Lana and if i had a sister, id want her to be just a portion of how good chuck is. 
 
 
I wrote this to Lana although she'll never see it because I am so happy with this direction.

Kinda sad how Lana said that LDR5 is for her fans but her fans can't appreciate anything she does. The only thing anyone knows how to do is complain

I hope we'll get tracklist soon, so I'd know if BAR/Architecture is on the album or not, so I could listen to it if it's not

honeymoon: omg she just had the same people for the whole album!! the sound is so stagnant and boring, she should've really got some new faces in the studio to mix it up

Fucking AMAZING. Such a cross between bewitched and the Twilight Zone. So concept driven. So humourous. I didn't really know she had this in her. She's so full of surprises and i'm SO excited for this album. #BLESSED She outdid herself. Can't wait to see what's next from this LEGEND.

What an ungrateful bunch. Save your judgement for when the album comes out. I don't understand how people can be so constantly dissatisfied.
