I just made my edit, but people are also annoyed taylor was silent up until charli was predicted to be #1 over bon jovi, it's not just because their fav got #2 (which is still really good??)

if she wants to pull these cheap tricks then she should at least pull this for EVERYONE

best believe there would be die hard fans who would buy those copies and the fact she’s making these as limited time offers and pushing the fomo agenda helps push the sales of the album. also, isn’t it weird she released that variant in UK only? this isn’t a new thing at all but the timing is just very in place.
 
she deserves the judgment at this point, her “artistry” if you can call it that is degrading and making her more chart obsessed than ever. she’s becoming the mcdonalds of music atp. 
 
i like her songs and she’s one of the artists that made my childhood but the way she’s handling her business right now is just so manipulative that could affect how music is marketed in the future.

I think people's main gripe with taylor's variants is she adds one new thing to them, charli hasn't done this, she's just got brat and brat deluxe, taylor has her album (and her deluxe) then +1 different thing on each instead of just dropping an acoustic album / demo album.
edit: people aren't upset about her releasing the same album on a different colour vinyl, it's the adding of one new track so people can't have all the acoustics/demos/whatever on one cd.

I mean releasing 3 UK exclusives ‘first draft’ songs because that’s where Charli is charting does seem a bit excessive tbh
 
But I mean it did earn her her longest running #1 album in the UK, so you could argue it wasn’t because of Charli in particular. I think the ones to blame are swifites who eat these limited edition ‘albums’ up
 
Personally I think billboard should tweak the rules a bit so this can’t keep happening because I love love love TTPD but 3 new ‘albums’ every week is excessive and isn’t doing her any favors against the capitalistic claims

I agree and really hate all this billboard stuff. I really don’t understand why she doesn’t just release all of the acoustics on one cd (after the original album so it still counts as the same album for it to still count on billboard) like surely more people would buy the album if they were all on one cd? right now only a small really dedicated rich portion of her fanbase can afford to buy all these acoustic versions on separate albums. 
 
like I’ve said before it’s just going to make her next album cycle worse cause she just has to keep breaking records so she, and everyone else doing this, is just shooting themselves in the foot by playing this stupid game
