  1. She brings it every time. Her voice is just so insanely good and I feel like this album is her best showcase of it yet. Blomi and Fare the Well so far are absolutely blowing my mind. Ashera’s song a gorgeous moody girl, but I will need a transcription of what’s she’s saying soon because I caught none of it. Love it.
  2. I’m not gonna get to listen till tomorrow, sadly. I’m so pumped though. Always a treat to hear new Susanne.

Wow after reading and realizing all the shit she’s associated with these past couple years I’d say we don’t even have Art Angels anymore, they belong in the trash.

Well, at least we will always have Art Angels

The eartheater wildfire is good. Everything she touches is magic tho.
  6. I listened to the first 8 tracks that are out and they aight. midnight dreams definitely the standout. She always absolutely slays the first track of her albums. The rest I’m not as crazy about. None of it is bad, but it also isn’t smacking me in the face. By the end of the night has a such a killer verse and prechorus and then the chorus itself just doesn’t really go all the way for me. I’ll keep listening tho. I like it more than the last one so far.
  7. Sweet is great and it’s one of the songs that gets stuck in my head the most frequently. It really captures a different kind of retro sound, like an old musical or a classic folk song.
  8. The way this album IS her boys for pele, complete with critics calling it overlong and self indulgent. I knew we were in for something special with this one.
  9. This album is definitely a JOURNEY. Really enjoyed it. I’d probably remove the pastor interlude. It makes me feel weird even if it is oddly beautiful. The music throughout the record is absolutely GORGEOUS, like damn. These are piano ballads sure but they are lusciously orchestrated. I need to spend so much more time on these songs but my immediate favorite is a Candy Necklace.
  10. Pastor interlude is absolutely confounding but I do love the music behind it. I might need an audio tech girly to remove the crazy pastor at some point. CANDY NECKLACE THO. Wowee.
  11. well we got the gigwise 100 which is legendaric and basically trivializes all other reviews lol
  12. The green is… interesting. The pink (purple) looks good tho.
  13. one of the most underrated seasons. Super silly, super gory, ton of fun. I can’t express how excited I am for Candy Necklace after the new snippet she shared. It sounds sooooo haunting.
  14. Ikr this album legitimately doesn’t have a “bad” review yet. I guess the 70s are meh, but every great album has had critics that were more lukewarm on it. My favorite album of all time (Boys for Pele) was reviewed negatively when it first came out and it’s legitimately a trailblazing masterpiece.
  15. Thinking about how fired up this album is making people in this thread and it’s not even out. Her power.
  16. There’s a difference between constructive criticism of art and saying things that are clearly meant to provoke fans of said art and I think most people with half a brain cell can see which of the two is happening on this day…
  17. Y’all making me consider breaking my leakless experience with this record and listen to Candy Necklace now just in case it’s different on Friday…
  18. I still think she might get a best new music from pitchfork. We will see soon, though. I (out of boredom) relentlessly browse album of the year, and I tend to find the first scores for a big new release trend down the middle, maybe a little lukewarm, and then on release the score jumps up significantly, most glowing reviews seem to come out then.
  19. I imagine it will be at least a little higher than BB in the end. Lol @ the guardian saying BB is her best album tho. Thats some good crack they on. Lol
  20. Me!! Only heard the singles and the CN snippet a million years ago. I honestly wish I hadn’t listened to any of the singles because they all would have slayed me so hard in the context of the full record. Like I should have at least held off on the grants. It’s an incredible opening track and it would have been amazing to hear it for the first time with the whole record. this is the first time in a while that I haven’t sought out a leak of one of her records and honestly I’m content waiting till Friday. I’m feeling like a serene queen.
  21. She’s clearly not talking about anything that she herself has uploaded to band camp/SoundCloud or is still on streaming. Earnhardt, dust bowl, golden age, you can still listen to all those things through official avenues so that’s clearly not what this is about.
  22. It would make a lot of sense. A song a lot of fans have been begging to get an official release for years and it makes sense with how much popularity it seems to have gained, even amongst people who are more casual Lana listeners.
