Photo on the billboard was shot using film (not digital).

I love how the blue sky of the billboard bleeds into the blue sky of LA

hopefully lana goes towards the 1960s romantic ska genre with Honeymoon, it would go perfect with Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood and hot guys in the beach playing sports while she watches them in the sunset

Genuinely surprised that we have 105 pages from no news.

I think we definitely need a Honeymoon (News Discussion Thread) for when the news actually comes then rename this thread to Honeymoon (Speculation Thread)

I think it's mostly referencing all the media that would arrange interviews etc. disguising it as "paying tribute" to her, but really their intentions were just to get a story out of her, hence the "never bought into your bullshit" line following this. I think it took Lana some time before she noticed that more often than not, the media weren't trying to help her promote her work & they had no interest in analysing her art, all they wanted to do was manipulate her into saying something controversial or painting her as inauthentic, fake, unoriginal, etc.

Yeah, that's what I also thought.

I really hope we'll get the full Billboard pic uncropped soon, it looks like a decent picture

PLEASE  even though i think Pawn Shop Blues is perfect just how it is i would kill for it to be a single and get a music video

I would kill for an acoustic album! I really want her to rerecord Fordham Road, Junky Pride and Pawn Shop Blues. These songs really show what a great lyricist she is and they deserve an official release! But yeah and acoustic album would be great!

I genuinely want  an acoustic album more than anything else

i think these are some of her best vocal takes - don't know why her voice sounds so unbelievably good / bluesy / nuanced / perfect during this session in particular

sometimes i forget what she's capable of. this was back in 2012 when the majority of people still hated her ass. the interviewer was so shady here -- he was cold as fuck and refused to compliment her in any way (despite those vocals); instead, he said her band sounded great

you know you're truly fucking good at something when people find ways to skirt around the compliments lmao

To fuel up the jazz/not really jazz debate:

As we've all seen from Ultraviolence, Lana will do whatever she likes to any type of music she feels like it. My best prediction is that she won't go 100% jazz but still influenced by it. Best example would be The Other Woman cover - she incorporated her unique style into the song, made it a lot different to Nina's version. She has always not been fit into a particular type of music, and made up her own name for them (Surf Noir, etc.) so it would probably the same for Honeymoon.

@@leaked_version: Being a spontaneous artist, I don't think you can't expect Lana to go mainstream, she will do whatever she likes. To be honest I think the fact that she is with Interscope is just faith. (EDITED: or maybe Interscope thinks that indie is the new mainstream)

i dont care about charts with Lana but i do care about her releasing music and promoting it by singing them on radios, on some tv show or good music videos.

Actually, the title gives me a visual of girls sunbathing and watching some hot boys playing volleyball on the beach , so I'm here for the tropical influences

    Billboard over Mel's Diner.
That alone is so 1940s 1950s 1960s Hollywood

Lana herself probably drives by there five times a week

Like how Marilyn and Bette and Joan had all those billboards decades ago. Nothing is more Hollywood than that.

so its symbolism on top of symbolism

The video rails against being her privacy being broken into to by the paparazzi and media, while the billboard is probably going to be seen by those millions driving by (with Lana looking at me looking at you)
It don't get any cooler and to the point.

and the negative nelly's and Debbie downers say Lana never does anything (sarcasm)

I love how she just started running out of nowhere. Lana's stunted acting ability (sorry) sure makes for some adorable scenes.

My fav part was most def the run. Shit looked like she was running from something chasing her in a scary movie. Her dress getting caught on something is the perfect white-girl-main character-in horror movie trope. lol

I love it so much when 'Lights, camera, accion' kicks in and Lana runs out of the room and down the stairs. And I love her expression after she shoots the helicopter. Flawless video
