Coldplay. If a yawn could be translated into the form of song that would be Coldplay's entire discography. So dull.

the privilege people are saying she has is white privilege it isn’t about wealth or being handed everything. a POC could experience and have everything lana has but they wouldn’t be 100% equals as they’re still a minority due to their race/ethnicity.

Everything about Marina is a miss for me  Her music, her voice, the production of her songs, her lyrics... nothing clicked at all when I first heard her music like 10 years ago and it still doesn't click now

Fiona Apple I just don't really like her music either. Just not my cup of tea.

See a lot of Florence here and I agree, don't really like her music. I feel like I would but I just don't unfortunately

I also tried getting into Tame Impala and I didn't like his music either. FKA Twigs aswell just don't really like her music.

she truly set herself up with this one. i still can't believe she disregarded the entire point of the interview, questions about the album, to make a political statement that nobody needed. on one hand trump's presidency did open the eyes of many people of the younger generation on social issues in the world but on a wider scale dismissing everything else wrong going on in america is not the way to go about that especially considering the current political climate doesn't affect her in the slightest as she has no idea of the harsh reality capitalism and climate change truly affect the working and lower class. her new "woke" personality that she now has in retaliation to the criticism at "question for the culture", i assume, is just embarrassing and she should really collect herself before she ends up saying something she'll never be able to bounce back from.

I love all of Lana’s records so much and there is not a single song in her discography that I dislike but I have to say - the vulnerability and intimacy of her entire artistic output as of late is totally enchanted by her vocals sitting atop a piano-driven instrumental.

Songs like Let Me Love You Like a Woman and Chemtrails Over the Country Club have this quality to them that is subdued and defiant in a quiet way. Maybe my sensibility is just more rooted in something folkier and stripped down, but I love the richness of her voice with Jack’s production and the clarity of the piano.

That being said, I also do love Rick Nowels’s, Dan Auerbach’s, Emile Haynie’s, and whoever else’s production - so so much. Again, I love everything. But I think at this particular stage in Lana’s life and career, Jack Antonoff really does an amazing job of conveying this stripped-down musical landscape that harkens back to Lana’s roots and showcases how she doesn’t need to hide behind any extravagant production (not that she EVER did, because everything she’s done, in my opinion, is amazing - and it’s been because of her, not solely because of any production ) - but it just goes to show that a song like Let Me Love You Like a Woman has a staying power and timelessness that is the result of Lana’s pure vocals, earnest lyricism, and a simple piano.

She doesn’t need a lot to shine - but when she does go bigger, she still shines just as much.
