  1. Random but I honestly hope no one unearths LDR9’s album cover from her website like with COCC. I will never forget the reactions when Lana posted the album art herself lol I’d love an era where the tracklist/album art is purely a surprise, but I know that’s wishful thinking
  2. Imagine if Pusha remembered and mentioned the song name & it was a title we’ve never heard. The site would crash
  3. Extending off of this, Lana not responding about the remix when the source reached out to her almost made me wonder if it’s because it’s for the next record and she’s wanting to stay quiet about it. Of course, there are a million other (more likely) explanations for her not commenting on the situation, but it’s still a possibility! While I’m not big on collabs in general, I wouldn’t be mad about them remixing a song from LDR9 if it were just a radio single and not on the tracklist. I’ll be grateful for whatever though!
  4. I’m assuming that the Pusha T remix will be for an old song. However, imagine it’s for a new track, and they included Pusha T for a radio single remix it’s unlikely but still a neat thought. It is odd that Interscope would reach out about a song 5+ years old, though. Like, it’s hard to imagine anything after LFL fitting a remix well, right? I guess we’ll see
  5. Ohh gotcha!! I’m hoping for that as well! Lana really is the queen of embodying locations a little unrelated but I wonder how her lyrical landscape will change if she pursues country for LDR9 Will she emphasize the southern portion of the US or continue with California mentions? Cali Cowgirl incoming
  6. At the risk of sounding dumb…what does this mean?? I’ve heard the song but not sure what’s being implied…but I’m interested lol
  7. Same! I honestly have my fingers crossed for a surprise release I know it’s unlikely, but I think it would be so cool if she/her team was like, “Here’s an album trailer for the record being released tomorrow/this weekend at midnight,” and had a music video or two drop the night of the release. I feel like it would garner just as much attention—if not more—than BB’s release, and it would eliminate the possibility of fake release dates (barring any misinformation from insiders). That’s just my personal preference, though!
  8. Is it weird that I’m more excited for LDR9 than I was for COCC and BB? I think having virtually zero information about this record is what’s adding to the hype for me—lots of room for imagination lol
  9. Jack Donoghue’s shoe via Instagram vs the shoes on Lana’s post. Maybe the same? I know they’re probably just dating/friends, but I’d love to hear what a Donoghue-produced Lana record would sound like…
  10. That’s so interesting! If it does indeed end up being for a music video, I’ll be surprised that we haven’t had any form of an album announcement from Lana! (unless of course it’s because LDR9 is a surprise release)
  11. Are music videos typically filmed over the course of multiple days? I’m just wondering if it’s a possibility that they’ve made multiple trips there for leisure (though I hope this isn’t the case & it’s for a MV lol)
  12. Omg that’s 100% her. I can’t make out much other than a drum, and the first melody sounds like F-G-C, maybe? edit: it 100% wasn’t her
  13. Omg that sounds just like her! I mean, what are the odds that a friend of Lana happens to be with someone that sounds like her?
  14. Here are some song suggestions based off those you mentioned: •Trigger by Hayley Williams •Seventeen by Tomberlin •Moon Song by Phoebe Bridgers •Communication by The Cardigans •Night So Long by Haim •Linger by The Cranberries Hopefully there’s something in there you’ll enjoy!
  15. I like entertaining the idea of LDR9 being a “fan service” record in the same way that LFL was—especially after an emotionally and lyrically heavy record like Blue Banisters. What if that’s why she seems to be considering an eclectic mix of genres and collaborations lately? So far, we know she’s expressed interest in working with Nikki Lane, Migos, Kali Uchis, and her father. Similarly, there’s also the possibility of multiple producers: Jack Antonoff (per her father’s recent post and an alleged siting, Rick Nowels (from the alleged screenshot), and Mike Dean to a lesser extent (based off of his vague comment about future works with her). I feel like Emile Haynie might be a bit of a stretch, but never say never? While this may seem impossible, let’s keep in mind that Lana had (among others) Playboi Carti and Stevie Nicks on the same album only a few years ago lol. Like, she really managed to include folk, hip hop, baroque pop, and more all on one record. Then again, maybe LDR9 will just be an extension of what we heard on Blue Banisters. Who knows lol
  16. imagine if DNC is one of the “bombastic” songs made with Jack Maybe the Venice Bitch shirt + Venice jacket were made knowing how iconic the single would be…and maybe that’s the case for DNC (yes I’m probably reaching but let a gay dream)
  17. I really wonder what an entire record produced by Mike Dean would sound like. I feel like WFWF wouldn’t be super representative of the entire album mostly because of how personal and dark it is. In other words, I almost feel like WFWF could have been the hope is a dangerous thing… equivalent to a Mike Dean record, but who knows, honestly
  18. I feel like Jack definitely can create distinct tracks across artists (Pills by St. Vincent, Sober II by Lorde, Venice Bitch, etc.), but what the final product sounds like will ultimately fall to Lana. Maybe I’m biased, but I think some of his more recent works sounding similar across certain artists has to do with NFR sparking a heavier interest in mainstream folk. From my perception, at least, it seemed like a lot of artists hopped on the “NFR train.” However, I agree that not all folk albums have to have the same musical elements and motifs that span across some of Jack’s production discography. Then again, most producers do tend to have their own signature sounds. I dunno. I was hoping for a new producer but also think he could shatter our expectations if Lana actively pioneers a different direction musically, but I guess that really goes for anyone she works with. anyways we need a Venice Bitch (Reprise) moment methinks
  19. If I remember correctly, it was during a livestream in 2021, and one of the admins (Elle, I believe?) made a thread for it on LB when it happened. I always have a hard time using the search feature on LB, but the topic should be there somewhere!
  20. It’s definitely possible, especially considering how she likes punctuating records with songs that act as starting points for the next one! I feel like Jack won’t want to replicate what was done by Lana’s former producer for Sweet Carolina, but at the end of the day, most of the artistic decisions will come from Lana. I’m really curious to see which direction she’ll steer Jack in—hopefully a good one!
  21. So Jack and Rob are likely (and ongoing) contributors to Lana’s next project I’d love a new producer, but Jack and Lana have made some really stunning tracks in a short time frame (Venice Bitch, White Dress, COCC, etc.), so I’m pretty indifferent either way tbh. It’s tough to say how it might sound for a handful of reasons. Of course it’s early, but we do know that Lana seems to have encouraged Jack to strip back the original production of Chemtrails for a more “authentic” feel. I almost wonder if she’ll continue with a similar, minimizing approach or if the bedrock of LDR9 is building off the “bombastic” tracks Jack mentioned While “bombastic” tracks and Rob’s piano may not seem like super compatible concepts, it’s worth noting that having piano on a record is pretty broad—after all, she had Venice Bitch and hope on the same record. That being said, I wouldn’t be shocked if we heard something “ethereal” (to quote Rob lol) like the instrumental pieces featured in Violet or the Patent Leather Do-Over clip. I have no idea what to expect, but I’m hoping these new tweets from Rob lead to news soon
  22. I’ll probably get called delusional for this, but I think it’s totally plausible for Lana to revisit a more pop-oriented sound in the next few years, even if it’s only for a handful of songs. That being said, if she does revisit more mainstream pop, I don’t think it will sound much like BTD at all. Do I want this? Not necessarily, but I do think it’s 100% possible, and I’m inclined to think it will occur eventually—I just think she’s “chasing her muse” which currently happens to rest in a more organic soundscape fortified by her family and friends (such as her dad and Nikki Lane). What’s interesting about Lana is that she actively juggles and maintains an unheard discography stretching over several genres (think TLSP, country with Nikki Lane, jazz covers, Kali Uchis claiming Lana recently wanted a collab, Lana wanting a Migos collab, etc.). In short, I think she’ll surprise her listeners, but it’s just a matter of when.
  23. If Rob is confirmed as playing a big role on LDR9, I think jazz or blues would be my personal preference. I think that would be a natural transition from a handful of songs on Blue Banisters (think Text Book), and her voice fits the genres perfectly. While of course country songs can be considered delicate and spiritual, I’d argue that the word “ethereal” isn’t a common descriptor for country music. I could, however, see this translated into a jazz or blues song—especially considering she was delving into jazz more recently for the covers record. I guess we’ll see!
  24. not to divert from the convo but I finally found this video I had been searching the internet for & wanted to post before I forget lol such a talented family!
  25. …is LFL’s husband an actual insider or is this more of a running joke? (genuinely asking lol)
