What happened in Beirut was entirely preventable too. Why is ammonium nitrate being stored in a place close to where people are? There is a reason why nuclear waste gets buried far from population centers.

Lebanon has really been through so much in recent years and this is just horrible. My heart goes out to all who are affected and I hope the international community comes together to help. Now they are saying that 250,000 are homeless because of this, so I really hope there is a coordinated effort to help.

I know I have said this before and maybe not everyone wants to hear it because we are all psyched and looking forward to a new album. But my guess is that this album won’t be out until November.

    Just consider these factors:

    1. Lana just released her audiobook. The physical copy of VBBOTG drops September 29, with the physical copy of the audiobook coming October 2. COTCC won’t come until after Lana is done rolling out VBBOTG.
    2. Lana’s second poetry collection is to be released in March 2021. If that is when the book comes out, then logic suggests the audiobook will come in January 2021.

All things considered, this suggests that COTCC will come around November/December not to conflict with the poetry projects.

Within the music industry, the record labels will want their A-list clients to release new albums around the holidays because that is when they stand to make the most money. It is also the hope of the industry, tour promoters and artists alike that touring can resume sometime in the first half of 2021. With this in mind, Lana herself may even want to push this release closer to when she can tour.

Lana has three different projects on her plate at once and her management and Interscope have to balance all of these projects.

The decision of when to release this album is not entirely on Lana or her management. This really comes down to Interscope.

I highly doubt that this is some “tactic” from Lana to not say anything about the album. Anyone who has seen the videos of the explosion must’ve felt something or they’re heartless. They were absolutely terrifying. If it hadn’t had happened, she would’ve still kept silent or tweeted or made an Instagram post about something different.

I love how Lana can be like a kid sometimes, like here when she is playing with this frog!

I enjoy watching the frogs myself from time to time!

That was two weeks ago. Lana is back in LA now as she was seen at a 7/11 last week. I doubt Interscope is doing any in-person meetings with Lana and her team right now, but I'm sure the wheels are in motion for the next album. They are probably talking via Zoom.

My guess is that the album will be out in the fall because the holidays come up around that time.

I sent this to some of the fan accounts on IG, as well as one of her friends. I’m sure Lana will get word of this.

I don’t know why this isn’t a news headline? One of the all time great songwriters (Springsteen) praises Lana and the press doesn’t pick it up. Lana posts pictures from a protest and the press reports on what Khelani and Tinashe say. This is proof of the double standard Lana was mentioning in her IG post from May. That is very bias and dishonest reporting right there. Bruce praising Lana should be a news headline.

Last year when Lana released Norman Fucking Rockwell I said (in addition to saying NFR is the best album of the 2010s) that the themes reminded me of what Springsteen was singing about on Born in the USA. Bruce has had a major impact on Lana’s work. Lana really does learn from the best; Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Crosby Stills Nash and Young etc.

When you listen to Bruce’s lyrics and then you listen to Lana’s lyrics you see that they both want the same thing for America. They both worry about the social ills that hold our nation back. They believe in the spirit of the American people and know that we collectively can aspire to higher standards as a nation.

Also, they both make music for regular people. Their inspiration comes from folk music. They really relate to the working class through their art. I hope they can work together one day because that would be one hell of a collaboration!

I’m in tears!!! Hear The Boss praise Lana like this means a lot to me and to know that Bruce is a fan of Lana’s work.... well that’s just huge! I’ve always been a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and I have seen him in concert. When you think about it, Bruce has been a huge influence on Lana. Their songs come from the same place. Lana sings his praises in “American” and I had always wondered if Bruce was a fan of Lana and now we know. I hope one day they perform together. Both are amongst the finest musical storytellers. Woodie Guthrie inspired Bob Dylan. Then Bob Dylan inspired the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Lana.

But wow, this means a lot. Bless your heart Bruce!! Thanks for the music. Thanks for inspiring me and inspiring Lana!

    I can't be sure about this, so don't quote me. This is just me speculating;

Given the whole COVID situation, we don't know how many staffers are on the job at the Interscope headquarters in Santa Monica right now, so things may be slow in regard to finalizing the release date of COTCC. This is part of the reason why I have said in my earlier posts not to be surprised if the release gets pushed to November which is popular for album releases because of the holidays.

But I will agree that if this album is coming out Sept 4, we should hear something within the next few days. If not, then we probably shouldn't start holding our breath but at least be patient.

What I’m saying is the “backlash” you are referring to does not come from a large group of people. It comes from a small group with big mouths. These are trolls I’m referring to. It’s been two months since the IG post. People have moved on because news cycles are short. The public is enjoying her poems and is looking forward to her next record because people care about her art, not her views.

They did a poll once that found that political views of celebrities have no influence. Another recently poll found that a majority is against cancel culture.

The bottom line is that empty barrels make the most noise.

The majority of people don’t go around making lots of noise. They mind their business. And it’s that majority who is not discussed by the press. It is that majority that isn’t trolling people on Twitter because they actually have things to do in life.

The idea of Lana being well received starting with NFR is a ridiculous notion. What NFR did is it expanded her audience to those who didn’t understand her at first.

UV, Honeymoon and LFL all got good reviews too. BTD is now very well received despite the initial negative reaction. Overall she has been credited as having a huge impact on music in the last decade.

She is currently very well liked and respected. And it’s been that way for a while now.
