    Terrence Loves You

I've found this: By rights, the release of a new David Bowie biopic should be a matter of great excitement for the late singer's devoted army of fans. But with just days to go before the UK release of Stardust, a fictionalised portrait of Bowie's first trip to America in 1971, the film is mired in controversy. ... It touches on how Bowie's relationship with his schizophrenic older half-brother, Terry Burns, shaped his career and ultimately influenced the creation of his on-stage persona Ziggy Stardust. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9128223/David-Bowie-brother-lost-mind-battle-thats-left-family-raging.html

    Terrence Loves You

There are what seem to be references to paranoid schizophrenia and magical thinking in the lyrics: I put the radio on Hold you tight in my mind Isn't strange that You're not here with me But I know the light's on in the television Trying to transmit, can you hear me Wonder if this brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia?
  9. Oooh I didn't know that. That explains why then lol
  10. I wonder why she has never worked with Jonathan Wilson. I believe he could bring a lot to the table as a producer.

    Your Music

Hey, big fan of Elliott here. Yes, you do sound like him. Lovely song.
  12. That it's okay to be crazy and blue...
  13. Mine is Elliott Smith. He was amazingly talented but his music is a bit too depressing for me so I go on long periods without listening to him.

  15. Ahh I love this song so much! Thanks for reminding it.
  16. I agree with this. I remember Kurt Cobain talking in an interview about how he has always had a fascination with dolls, but he did not have the money to buy them and when he could actually afford something to his liking, it was like finding a treasure, and now that he could buy the whole store it doesn't mean as much. I guess once you've found your fame, not only the materialistic stuff it gets you as in Cobain's case, but the little pleasures you were once so fond of may not hold the same importance or effect they used to do. I think this could be why Lana gravitates towards living a simple life and talk about not changing in Dark But Just A Game.
  17. I want to say a few things about the industry plant issue. Lana Del Rey has always struck me as the person Lizzy Grant actually was or wanted to be but simply did not have the platform to express it in a manner she saw fit. Some people also do not seem to have a fixed personality and they instead draw on many other influences to discover who they truly are. What most people project to others on social media is a persona in itself for it requires condensing your personality to what you want others to see. When you're a true artist, you tend to shape your image towards your music which is the innermost expression of your being. It seems to me that she has always been authentic and did not play according to what has been expected of her or else she wouldn't be so controversial - and by controversial I don't mean the kind of controversy that would get you good publicity, I mean the kind that would get you "cancelled" whatever the hell that means. Yes, she changed, and she keeps changing, but it does not mean she is shedding off a persona carefully calculated, she is a human being and is being transformed through her experiences.
  18. I think it’s okay to be disappointed in or upset with an artist that means a lot to us, but the manner in which we do it matters... The other day I was complaining about her unreliability about dates and comparing it to being shit-tested by someone I love which I regretted later. We can have our not-too-happy moments as expecting fans but she’s a very prolific artist who has been blessing us with her art quite frequently. I guess it’s just better not to follow an artist when you’ve obviously lost your respect for them to the extent that you’re directing your resentment towards the fandom. Anyway, I’d love love love it if she covered this:
