I think I'm still traumatized over the backlash she got and my mind keeps unmanifesting fictional lyrics like "My boyfriends were rappers" lol. Something in the vein of the lyrics you quoted would be super cool I think.

I'm afraid it could be. Imagine if she said "I'm not text book like 'certain alternative singers'". God, I hope not

I hope I'm wrong but I still don't think the album is coming out on the 4th of July. I think she really did want to release it on this date, being the Independence Day and all which ties in with her whole aesthetic, but I'm still super excited about the singles nevertheless.

I agree with both the text book (perfect) love and mental disorder theory. Heck, it could be both. “He was a text book psychopath but I loved him...“

This is sooo exciting! Come transfuse us some magic, queen!

It might be an allusion to Pink Floyd’s “Goodbye Cruel World”. -

Jonathan Wilson was also born in December -
I've found this: By rights, the release of a new David Bowie biopic should be a matter of great excitement for the late singer's devoted army of fans. But with just days to go before the UK release of Stardust, a fictionalised portrait of Bowie's first trip to America in 1971, the film is mired in controversy. ... It touches on how Bowie's relationship with his schizophrenic older half-brother, Terry Burns, shaped his career and ultimately influenced the creation of his on-stage persona Ziggy Stardust. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9128223/David-Bowie-brother-lost-mind-battle-thats-left-family-raging.html

There are what seem to be references to paranoid schizophrenia and magical thinking in the lyrics: I put the radio on Hold you tight in my mind Isn't strange that You're not here with me But I know the light's on in the television Trying to transmit, can you hear me Wonder if this brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia?

Oooh I didn't know that. That explains why then lol

I wonder why she has never worked with Jonathan Wilson. I believe he could bring a lot to the table as a producer.

Hey, big fan of Elliott here. Yes, you do sound like him. Lovely song.

Artists that you like, but you always forget about their existence?

Mine is Elliott Smith. He was amazingly talented but his music is a bit too depressing for me so I go on long periods without listening to him. -
