  1. could be! There's some pitching going on.
  2. Who's the girl vocal on Reflections laughing? Also, I claim the track Open Hearts as a favorite so far. Definitely single-worthy. EDIT: Of course it's the only Max Martin produced track lol. That guy will just outproduce everyone. The transition between Baptized in Fear into Open Tracks and then that entire 6-9 track run is pretty f-ing solid.
  3. it's kinda of like the girl he's singing about in the other love songs finally makes an appearance towards the end of the record and it's rough. Lana is THAT girl
  4. We won so bad! Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that the Weeknd included Lana on 3 (three) of his album tracks (more than any other artist?), while Lana only featured him once? He's an absolute legend and will forever have my heart. Not sure what the reviews will be like, but we can expect praise for the vocals, that's for sure. p.s. Dancing in the Flames isn't even on the record. Which is good because, like I said before, it didn't mesh well. Pretty proud of myself with my predictions on this record.
  5. Yes, god, please, her voice works so well with a more contemporary sound. One of her records needs to be produced by the Weeknd, Max Martin or Kevin Parker.
  6. Okay, I've just listened to the song. Lana is serving vocals in the second half. We won just by having her there and something new to listen to. I can't believe I clocked this too (that it was going to be a ballad). The song itself is not as boppy as Prisoners or Lust for Life, though, it's very dark and brooding. Rank it higher than Stargirl Interlude though. LMAO, exactly
  7. I called it yesterday - said it was gong to be a double album (big, farewell record). According to Wikipedia, LDR is not on any tracks as a writer. Which means she isn't as a singer either. Game over. Back to limbo. Track listing [edit] Hurry Up Tomorrow track listing No. Title Writer(s) Producer(s) Length 1. "Wake Me Up" Abel Tesfaye The Weeknd 5:09 2. 8. personally i loved all three - maybe dancing in the flames the least because it sounds a bit like the weekend by books. (He's done that poppy 80s inspired MJ sound many times before. Timeless is perfect. Great workout track.) and the Anita one is a banger. that said, the three songs aren't very cohesive stylistically. At lest flames sticks out (the other two are similarly dark and brooding). if lana pops in, it will be for a ballad. Mark my words. Can't imagine he'll have 3 banger collabs on the same record. Maybe the closing track. i also wouldn't be surprised if it was a double record - given that he dropped three singles before it's even released. Plus, like I said, the songs are kind of different. It's also his last record under this monicker. i feel like the record might be bigger than the last two, more ambitious. Which is another reason why I expect Lana to show up on at least a verse.
  9. highly unlikely scenario tho. This record is clearly guarded in the most secure vault
  10. i found this: Here's when The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow comes out in your country: The Weeknd is set to release 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' at midnight ET worldwide. This means that the album will drop at the corresponding time in your country. If you're on the West Coast in the US, 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' will come out at 9:00 PM on January 30th. As for fans in the UK, it's set to be released at 5:00 AM on January 31st. Here are The Weeknd Hurry Up Tomorrow release times for a handful of major time zones and countries: United States (PT) - 9:00 PM (Jan 30th) United States (ET) - 12:00 AM Canada (Vancouver) - 9:00 PM (Jan 30th) Canada (Toronto) - 12:00 AM Brazil (Rio De Janiero) - 2:00 AM United Kingdom (GMT) - 5:00 AM Europe (CET) - 6:00 AM South Africa (Cape Town, Central Africa Time) - 7:00 AM India (New Delhi) - 8:30 AM Indonesia (Jakarta) - 12:00 PM Philippines (Manila) - 1:00 PM Hong Kong - 1:00 PM Singapore - 1:00 PM Australia - 1:00 PM (Perth), 4:00 PM (Sydney) Japan (Tokyo) - 2:00 PM New Zealand (Auckland) - 6:00 PM
  11. Quelle surprise 🥱
  12. My picks: Super creepy and genuinely scary: Hereditary Oddity (2014) Late Night with the Devil (2014) Rec. (crappy ending though) Don't Breathe All-time Favs: Psycho The Birds Misery The Exorcist The Others (Hitchcock would have loved Kidman) Unbeatable American Classics: Nightmare on Elm Street Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors Wes Craven's New Nightmare The Blair Witch Project Evil Dead I and II Friday the 13th Scream I and especially II (also loved VI) (Side note: the best three of the Nightmare series are incidentally all the ones starring Heather Langenkamp) Criminally Underrated: Jeepers Creepers I Upgrade (more thriller) Abigail (2024) Great but not really horror (or scary): Get Out Us The Witch Fresh (2022) Criminally Overrated: Barbarian (pure nonsense) Longlegs Paranormal Activity (a joke) Candyman
  13. With the way things have been going lately, i'm sure the track list will drop on 11.59.59 pm on Friday nyc time. So like 2 days from now
  14. omg some dorothy scenes would be amazing! This is crazy coming from a guy, but Dorothy is like the best movie character ever. All-american, on an epic journey, with the best and most memorable "i want" movie song ever.
  15. i cannot BELIEVE that even the weeknd's TRACK LIST is some gorillas in the mist type shit. This era is the fandom equivalent of pushing a rock like sisyphus. Can we just get something, anything. Something more than working album titles, a picsart cover and a year-old song snippet. Dry af over jere
  16. Guys, isn't New Zealand miles ahead time wise? Why the heck is this (too) so excruciatingly long and uneventful? I need that track list damn it
  17. OMG YES! 🩷🩷💚💚 So, I had never seen the play and walked into the movie expecting nothing. If anything, as a big fan of the original Wizard of Oz, I was bracing for the worst, thinking they could never follow that movie without dropping the ball. *cough Looking at you, Oz: the Great and Powerful *cough But from the opening song alone, Ari's performance, the costumes, the choreo and the logo in the same style as the original movie, I knew I would love it. 🩷🩷💚💚 All the songs are solid, some incredible, all the performances, the pacing, the set design and the visuals deliver at every point. My favorite part is the Oz Dust ball (not sure if that's how you spell it). Was getting Marie Antoinette vibes but at Oz, and the dance scene between the two leads My only complaint is the Defying Gravity sunset and CGI (would have shortened that whole scene and went for quality over quantity). The visuals were veering into ugly. And I wouldn't have her cape extend that much (that works in theater, in film it just defies logic). But all in all, a great movie and Emilia Perez can go suck a bag of dicks. p.s. Watching it on stage in April and can't wait. Especially since I have no clue what happens in the second half.
  18. Anyone else completely disinterested in this event? Blake Lively is by all accounts a moron. I cannot believe how she dresses nor how unlikable she is. As for the man, i legit have no clue who he is or what he does. The fact that this is news, while we got climate change issues, wildfires and genocides, is frankly sickening.
  19. I was so desperate that i asked chatgpt if he can see what collabs the record has based on the blurry screenshots of the weeknd's latest vinyl story on the gram 🤦🏻‍♂️ of course it couldnt see shit
  20. That's my only complain too. Her previous covers look like they could have been exhibited in MoMa or The Whitney. The new cover just look cheap or like something from early 2000s. Or maybe that was the idea? But it's already looking outdated.
  21. Okay, so those are pretty dope. BLONDE is a an absolute f-ing must. (That guy needs to get his hot ass back into the studio) Blood Orange is an absolute must. And Tame Impala - get on Currents asap! <3
  22. If after 2 years of waiting and being stood up multiple times we get 13 songs and of one those is the mega throw-away Take Me Home Country Roads, istg I will unstan I played it once when it came out and legit thought LDR and co. have never sound lazier. 2/5.
  23. i just saw this on pitchfork. How the f will disease and die with a smile both be on the same record? One is pure industrial pop and the other a country pop ballad! Is this a madame x style musical patchwork type of record? how can you possibly have andrew watt and cirkut produced record and then have die with a smile on it too 🤦🏻‍♂️ a mid country pop ballad
  24. it's so good! Never paid attention to her before, her music just never grabbed me. But I'm like obsessed with this
  25. this 👆🏻 it's a banger
