I do wonder what or how this could tie into the record.
lana ATE on the album cover so I hope Sean drives around and his heart drops seeing it...
but I do wonder if she's hung up on him or like returning things or ??? just there to see if she feels finally over it ? its interesting and now im so curious ... also val commenting the laughing emoji makes me think lana is gonna low-key drag him on her record or something idk (my wishes)

I feel that Lana's music will become more and more meaningful as time goes by. I know she has this concern about being forgotten, but she definitely won't be. Just see the new generation discovering all of her discography so far. Later generations will also rediscover it, so it goes...
And, along with the changes and general contexts of the world, each album will be able to have a new meaning and become even more valuable. Remember when BTD on its release was just considered "bad influence music for young girls" and is now recognized as the most influential pop album in the music industry in that decade?
It makes me think, "What about Blue Banisters? What about Chemtrails? Btw, what about Did... Ocean Blvd? What about everything we're seeing firsthand today?"
Guys, ten years is a long time! We're already experiencing the longevity of Lana's work now. She has songs from 10 years ago going viral on modern social media.
What will become of Lana Del Rey?
    Everything but an abandoned tunnel.

Hello guys. I'm new to the site. Hope it's fun.

all mentioned already but of course:

out of the black into the blue

i can turn blue into something beautiful

    paint me happy in blue

but when i think of the word 'blue' itself only what really comes to mind first is

your head in your hands as you color me bluuuuuue

    because... pretty self-explanatory

Right now at least, I'm still so very much satisfied with Blue Banisters, I seem to like it more and more as time passes, which, I loved it before, but it just simmers great to me. I think, starting towards NFR, I felt a lot more in tune with her music personally, and it felt like a lot of times, I was going thru similar stuff, to lesser extents, but similar nonetheless, and it's like a whole new dimension kind of opened for me when i listened. it was freaky, but i was, and still am real thankful (mind u i'm not one to open up), that it made those experiences feel less hollowing. friends, i found them better, but when i was alone and just aching, her stuff's been a great facilitator towards healing and an overall great reminder of strength moving past things.

to the true to life art form that nfr summed up in different layers, to the world's lockdowns and chemtrails transitioning towards blue banisters eventual facing and acceptances, i feel perfectly content still simmering in the album's maturity and solidness of lasting. i'm slightly curious in which direction she'll go next and the questions, but part of me's also content, and honestly just truly proud of the progression from nfr to bb that solidifies the album a lot more for me as a classic.

i've always been interested in the world of emotions and i'm really glad i found her to listen to. it made a lot feel less alien.

I’ve told this story a few times on this site but not fleshed out. I discovered Lana when I was working at my local library, (I was 16, this was in 11th grade around January 2013) as we had to have volunteer hours in order to graduate  high school. At that moment I was learning to add music to my iPod/iTunes and wanted to expand my music experience (the only music I knew about was whatever played on the radio; I didn’t knew albums or artist discographies were a thing until 2010… I was a late bloomer in general) so I started to rent out CDs like crazy from the library. One day I’m organizing the CDs and see Born to Die and thought to myself “huh, I’ve been hearing about this woman a lot, let’s see what’s this is about”. So that night I popped the CD in a CD player and… nothing. I processed absolutely nothing. But something told me to burn the whole album to my computer and to give it a second chance. And I’m so glad I did. I took me weeks, but slowly song by song, I was loving the album. I think the last two songs that took me the longest to like was Born to Die and National Anthem because of how sonically dark they were compared to the stuff I’ve heard in my life to that point.

When I say Lana single-handedly opened the door for me to the world of music, no lies are told. I went into a vortex of new information; because of Lana I learned about demos and instrumentals. When I found her unreleased music on SoundCloud (I think Puppy Love was the first unreleased song I’ve heard of hers) I fell in love even more. Because of her I found Marina and Lorde and it just keep snowballing from there, learning about new artists and genres, and ultimately the beginning of my music collection. I joined this site sometime in 2013, and I remember already being here for a while when we were collectively freaking about about her announcement of Ultraviolence at the Tropico film premier (which I can’t believe I witnessed all of this in real time).

My interest in all honesty, as others here have mentioned, has dwindled. It’s a combination of the fact that I’m getting older and I don’t have as much time to invest in “stanning” as a 26 y.o., her lack of interest in keeping the hype up on every album cycle, or her ignorant, clueless-not-in-a-malicious-way behavior. Which is menial compared to many other artists, but I just don’t waste my time in “defending” her like a stan would anymore.

I still don’t like COCC, but now I’m connecting more with NFR and BB more than in the past. I don’t think we’ll ever get some of the clever lyrics and more upbeat music from the BTD to LFL time period, but this new record has me intrigued and hopeful that it won’t sound like the last 3 records (where I enjoy the majority of the songs, i just don’t find them to be cohesive records).

She will always be my #1 and I will always  enjoy her songs , even the ones I don’t like (which are very few in total). She’s my comfort artist and I am very lucky to grow up alongside her music which has been there for me; especially Honeymoon, which I regard as my top favorite record of all time and click with the most on a “spiritual” level if you can call it that. I complain about the direction she goes as an artist, but two things for certain are that I am glad she has short periods in-between albums, and that she single-handedly shifted the music world.

I still think it’s funny that my discovering of Lana was when Taylor ripped off the Ride music video; I remember the first time I had ever heard of Lana was in December 2012 when Taylor released the I Knew You Were Trouble video and all of the comments were about how she stole Lana’s idea. I looked up the Ride video and watched it to see what all of the fuss was about and the rest is history  Lana’s always been my favorite throughout the years, but I feel like how often she releases music actually started leaving me kind of oversaturated last year so in 2021 I probably listened to her the least I ever have. But I’m past that and excited for the new era, and I also recognize that she has not only grown as an artist but as a person, and it’s not fair to expect of her what people expected 10 years ago. We’re watching her legacy unfold on her terms and it’s very refreshing

honestly i'm still new (no bullying pls)  i started listening around late 2020 or early 2021, even though i've already heard dcma a few years back. i saw someone doing a review of ldr albums and i got curious about honeymoon because some people said it's an underrated album of hers. so i began streaming it, and i fell in love right away... i thought of it as similar to some high class wine. after honeymoon i streamed born to die next, and the rest is history. i admit that getting into all of her albums was a gradual process for me, but being around people who love her music (virtually) and reading some of her interviews about the writing process/thoughts and feelings behind her work made it quite easier and even more worth my time. as of today i appreciate lana a lot more, i have so much respect for her as an artist and as an individual too. as she opens up more in her most recent work i could see myself finding even more common ground with her --- her presence and words give me a lot of comfort. listening to her is a very personal experience to me like flipping through intimate, old journal pages. compared to her previous eras she seems to be doing a lot less promotion and has a scarcer social media presence, but i'm just glad that she is taking her time doing what she loves, working on her projects and spending time with friends and family.

If she doesn’t release a mv for this song it tells me that there’s a mv for another song that will be the true single of the album

she better release visuals for this record

because with what we’ve seen with Neil they really have a aesthetic and vibe set in place

i really wish they recorded a video during the W magazine since that was so beautiful

but I need something, if bb and cocc got one, then ocean needs one too it’s  a must

i love the single, I just know the album will floor me

I think the pandemic had her pulling back because the world was in this state of pause

now we’re back at it, and she’s really fledged out the bb sound (i love bb btw) and she’s showcasing her best

her voice flutters and it does remind me
of old Lana as mentioned by other members (comparing it to uv)

the way her voice goes into her higher pitch (marred my soul, etc)

this record already feels special, like when MAC andd VB was released

contemplating Lana under this snowstorm in Canada

have a great Christmas and holidays Lanaboards ❤️

I would make this into a poll but it would be longer than the Bible I fear..... maybe we need a Lana bible?
    mine are probably:
"paint me happy in blue" , Venice Bitch
"got my blue nail polish on, it's my favourite color & my favourite tone of song", The Blackest Day

++ from her poetry book: "two blue steel trains run through the tunnels of your cool blue steel eyes",  The Land of 1000 Fires
