I’m pretty sure the vocals from the Pawn Shop Blues’ music video were re-recorded, probably in 2017, and there’s still the same emotion in Lana’s voice as there is in the AKA version. That’s why I’m hoping the vocals from the oldest unreleased on BB were re-recorded. I have no doubt that even new vocals could be super emotive, and they’d sound much better for sure. It was never a matter of “the first take was the best and I’ll never do better” in Lana’s case. We know Lana used to record a lot it takes in the early days, so I don’t think it’d ever be an issue to re-record old unreleased to make them fit the album better. If Lana chose to include 2013 unreleased on a 2021, that’s obviously because she still loves these songs very deeply, she’d totally be able to deliver vocals as emotional as the original recordings.

Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight! Simply because it’s such a gorgeous outlier and would be a wonderful addition to her official discography.

If social media presence = album sales, Selena Gomez would be the top selling female artist, and Madonna’s newest albums would’ve barely cracked the top 10 (and the opposite is true).
I honestly have no clue what any of LDR’s albums charted at/sold, bc who cares. It’s not like her career is reliant on commercial success. She has her niche, they show up, the label is happy, she’s happy, we’re happy.

Now that Lil Nas X has had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, fucking, cheating etc - can I please go back to singing about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or dancing for money - or whatever I want -without being crucified or saying that I'm glamorizing abuse?????? Im fed up with black gay men writers and alt singers saying that I glamorize abuse when in reality I'm just a glamorous person singing about the realities of what we are all now seeing are very prevalent emotionally abusive relationships all over the world. With all of the topics women are finally allowed to explore I just want to say over the last ten years I think it's pathetic that my minor lyrical exploration detailing my sometimes submissive or passive roles in my relationships has often made people say Ive set women back hundreds of years. Let this be clear, I'm not not a feminist -but there has to be a place in feminism for women who look and act like me - the kind of woman who says no but men hear yes- the kind of women who are slated mercilessly for being their authentic, delicate selves, The kind of women who get their own stories and voices taken away from them by stronger women or by men who hate women. I've been honest and optimistic about the challenging relationships I've had. News flash! That's just how it is for many women. And that was sadly my experience up until the point that those records were made. So I just want to say it's been a long 10 years of bullshit reviews up until recently and I've learned a lot from them but I also feel it really paved the way for other women to stop ' putting on a happy face' and to just be able to say whatever the hell they wanted to in their music- unlike my experience where if I even expressed a note of sadness in my first two records I was deemed literally hysterical as though it was literally the 1920s Anyways none of this has anything to do about much but I'll be detailing some of my feelings in my next books of poetry. Yes I'm still making personal reparations with the proceeds of the books to my choice of Native American foundations which I'm very happy about. And I'm sure there will be tinges of what I've been pondering in my new album that comes out October 22nd. Thanks for reading Happy quarantining

I think this album is taking its place as my absolute favourite from her once again!
I think this one in particular does an amazing job of capturing what there is to love about BTD, Paradise, and UV, and actually foretells the levels of self-introspection, grace, and maturity that would follow in LFL, NFR, COTCC, and now BB. That timelessness narrative from Burnt Norton seems to be taking on a new meaning within the record now that we are almost 6 years down the line from it - Honeymoon as an album really summed up everything that Lana set out to do as an artist and remains transcendent of all timelines.
And not to mention, the album really does sound like the French Riviera in the 60s and brings on so many themes that are intelligent and indulgent, all at once. Truly a perfect record that I think stands the test of time and is an underrated gem in her discography <3

A perfect album with some of her most creative and stunning visuals <3 Everything surrounding this record is so cohesive and during its era, you could tell Lana was really proud and excited to have created this body of work.
Every lyric contains multitudes - this is one of the rare albums in history where the meaning of the songs are both super clear and super ambiguous, as they’re written to be interpreted in so many different ways. There is a very strong metaphysical thread running throughout this record that can be hard to miss if you don’t read between the lines a bit. There are layers upon layers, lyrically, sonically, visually...
