I’m liking her more with each single release ngl  like fishtails said, Lana isn’t releasing this type of music anymore and Remy actually has good melodic writing and a very curated aesthetic sense which most other Lana copycats can’t say the same lol. Idk something about Remy sticks out more to me than someone like Nessa Barrett (though I like a few of her songs).
Don’t Go Back to Paris is genuinely an amazing song, the new single Red White and Blue is probably my second favorite. Last for me is San Francisco, I really hate that song for some reason. I’m excited for Movie Star and whatever song has the snippet that she posted that goes like “no one has to know what we do, baby it’s youuuu, the one I’m dreaming of”.

I like most pop artists and am genuinely sooo tired of stan wars omg, pop culture used to be a fun thing and now it feels exhausting ... I don’t get why people think it matters if they dislike an artist, even if I dislike an artist the most I will say is their music is not for me! I was just thinking earlier how terrible it would be to be a celebrity and have one of the snark subreddits made about you and everyone is criticizing every minuscule thing that you do and making up their own version of you in their head. I feel like people always jump to the worst conclusions too when it comes to celebrities (specifically female pop stars).  People talk about how stars were treated in the 2000s but the cycle never stops and it feels like it’s gotten sooo much worse in the past 5 years.

This is something I wish other fans would admit. How awful it is that they thought it was their job to dig up "receipts" of a wrong date, pretend that meant the *ssault could never have happened and then Melanie actually thanked them and put out a song about it

Industry Plant is a term used by people who know nothing about the industry, but want to sound like they do.

Justice for all the beautiful voices we will never hear because they don’t come from money. Also fuck every corrupt music label that use people’s dreams just to make money out of them

Apart from certain artists who’ve done terrible things (ex Diddy) I wish people would be more open minded. Just because you don’t love an artist’s music, doesn’t automatically make their music bad. Everyone has different tastes and genres they love. The whole stan wars thing is so silly to me. This isn’t about anyone in particular, but people don’t understand basic respect anymore

melanie martinez making a diss track against her accuser was just simply insane in the worst way

it's not that i believe people shouldn't ever listen to melanie martinez, but it's incredibly shameful how her fans look the other way regarding her rape allegations, and other strange things she has done

not to mention her fans harassed and targeted her accuser to the point where she had to leave the internet, good on her for having the strength and the bravery to speak out again about it not too long ago

Sometimes fandoms overthink and overdo with those dumb ass stan wars, imo like what's the big deal if you don't like x artist or you like songs of y artist. Like just enjoy the music you like, that's the whole damn point.

girl all the real insiders have BEEN silent

the only difference is now we don’t have all these wannabes stirring the pot. The quiet is 100% more enjoyable than being trolled

The AOTY for Beyonce just makes me think again about how badly the Grammy’s fucked it up last year with Lana because I truly don’t think there’s ever going to be another Lana album which would be as deserving of a “career grammy” as Ocean Blvd was, the album itself was such an introspective project about Lana’s own life and career, they truly missed their chance. Maybe one day she will get that nod but it won’t mean the same thing as it would have meant with Ocean Blvd, just like it feels a bit empty giving Cowboy Carter this award when Lemonade and Renaissance didn’t get it.

idk its not hitting for me. it just reads as insincere/disingenous

the song is not bad but the fact that she opts in and out of "gaga" makes the whole thing look like a schtick. it doesn't feel like gaga it feels like someone cosplaying as her or at least cosplaying as her BTW days
