Every night I thank God we don't have outtakes on LDR9. Always when she uses outtakes or just remasters - and it's out of tune with the rest of the album - or re-records - and loses all the essence it originally had.
Better to have spaces for new songs.

to be honest, Lana music has always been very scenic to me personally:
    - a nighttime beach with city lights à la Ultraviolence
    - harbours / industrial docks à la NFR
    - flower fields à la Lust for Life era
    - industrial areas / windworks in the middle of some kinda wide fields / mountainous places à la COCC aesthetics
    - small pools in cheap motels with neon lights
    - summer houses
    - apartment complex

    other things:
    - doing laundries (making me feel like a rich housewife in a rich white neighbourhood who has a rich husband) à la "washing my hair doing the laundry"
    - apple products
    - vape pen
    - 8mm app on iphone
    - picsart
    - candles (in the wind)

My town has a really old Pepsi bottling plant that has all the old 'Americana"-style logos from back in the day when the brand was "Pepsi-Cola". Every time I drive by it I can't help but mouth "my pussy tastes like..."

i guess i'll never understand why next level charli is so loved… she sings it with her "post malone" voice which i absolutely HATE (this is a common occurrence around the self titled period tho), she sounds like she's trying to sing with a egg in her mouth when she does that thing

  22. heavensentslut liked a post in a topic by The Siren in Your dream Lana tour / whatever concept you have for a Lana tour
I saw a comment on YouTube saying how Lana should do a tour as Lizzy Grant with songs recorded during that time and I ran with the idea

Lana Del Rey as Lizzy Grant in
    Sweet Trailer Heaven Tour

note - she dyes her hair blonde for the duration of the tour

Intro - very americana, red white & blue, stars & stripes, etc
    1.    Gramma - partially used in ode to her late gramma, and to set the stage for the mood of Lizzy Grant
    2.    Disco - spotlight on Lizzy, center stage
    3.    Brite Lites - spotlight turns strobe lights

ACT 1 - costume change into a "hooker" outfit
    4.    Queen of the Gas Station -  AKA jacket on; white flowers in her tall & wide hair w/ her pink tiger stripe nails; imagine this song being performed in the middle of the night for a small crowd
    5.    Trash Magic - full version including the lyrics from both demo versions; the gas station backdrop is wheeled away to reveal a hotel room set at the start of the song (she sits/lays/etc on the bed for the song)
    6.    Roll with me (on the Radio) - shortened to be a dance + vocal interlude (v sexy)
    7.    Mermaid Motel - a backup dancer from RWM stayed on stage with a camera in hand for MM & PMIAM
    8.    Put Me in a Movie
    9.    Oh Say Can You See - the pair leave the hotel and go to a nightclub/bar

ACT 2 - set & costume change; driving in a chevy amidst palm trees; shes dressed in a minimal 1960s dress w/ hawaiian headscarf & heart shaped sunglasses
    10.    Strange Love - Lizzy catches feelings for this guy and through the act she sings of their relationship
    11.    Smarty
    12.    Spin Me Round
    13.    For K, Part 2
    14.    Yayo - AKA version

    ACT 3
    15.    Live Forever - Lizzy dreams of spending her life with him
    16.    Kill Kill - she finds out he's on death row for dealing drugs
    17.    Hawaiian Tropic - "you told me every man gets his wish, were you lying?"
    18.    Pin Up Galore - she starts her career in music

    Encore
    19.    Pawn Shop Blues
    20.    Text Book - i included this cos of the "Do you think if I go blonde, we could get our old love back? I guess this is really the end" lyric idk how else thsi song fits in the story tbh
    21.    White Dress - at first i had this as the opener but then moved it to the encore to close the show

completely agree! it was one of the first lana songs i really loved, after VG. this morning i was listening to both the studio version and the live one and thought "they are both PERFECT" and then i get here and find this thread! it doesn't sound like any other song in her catalog. everything about it - music, voice, lyrics, tone, title - is unique and fits together amazingly. she's so open and vulnerable, so honest and exposed, disarmingly doubtful yet confident in her wiles...it's that marylin monroe combination of being sweet yet sexy, kind of letting her guard down yet unapologetic about declaring what she wants. love it so much
you know, i don't really yearn for a lana del rey version, because any alteration would subtract from its charm...there is just nothing here that could be improved!
