Chemtrails Over The Country Club
WhiteHydrangea replied to Say Yes to Heaven's topic in Chemtrails Over the Country Club
Yes! I think you're pretty much spot on. The little girl is definitely a representation of a younger Lana, I think Lana's reflection can be seen in the mirror the girl is looking herself into Another clue about it it's that after the pack returns home, and although it seems Lana and the girl both "share" the same room and it is night time, the girl isn't anywhere to be seen waiting for Lana... It's pretty interesting that Lana wants to show she's taking care of herself, specially after her strong takes during Mother's Day and her "I've never had a mother" lines in LA Who Am I To Love You. Was she really on her own as a child? I think it's more of her trying to depict that now as an adult with a support group she's able to take care of the scars she got as a child. That's an interpretation for theraphy and looking at past mistakes and trauma. Pretty cool, right? Thanks for pointing it out @PARADIXO -

I was just about to comment on her IG why she needed to make it an alternative cover ASAP, thank G*d -
I don't know if it is the way she sings them, but these are such good lyrics. Easily one of my faves of her. This song overall is pretty good, just imaging someone making you song about as a thank you for everything... A pretty nice sentiment

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships

Yep, in my mind Salvatore aligns with her trips to Italy w Francesco. It's not the first time she sets Miami to a gangster scenario tho (I believe she's dwelled on this theme in unreleased songs, prove me wrong tho!), but imagine her being a little inspired after those vacations to sing about it again. I also think Freak is for Francesco, but not about him. It's more of an invitation for him to join her in all that is LA. LA being firstly her, her sexiness and devotion. However LA also means the craziness that comes with her fame, aka the crazy fans, the stalkers, the paparazzi, the lack of anonymity... Freak is definitely an invititation to Francesco to live in LA and commit. In 2014 I think initially they were going to settle in New York, hence why they bought some apartments and were looking for places together, but then she sold her apartment and finally settled in LA for good. So, it seems logic for her to write about that experience. Also, around her 2015 Endless Summer Tour, Lana performed Us Agaisn't The World. Around that time I remember some fans in Twitter for a show, or two, claimmed that they while they were standing in a section close to Francesco, when Lana performed UAGTW she was making eye contact with Francesco and singing the song to him with passion. The lyrics to UAGTW fit the themes she talks about in Freak, asking her lover to give up his life style to be with her... I think Lana really saw a potential partner in Francesco, he got her all hyped up on love again haha What do you need to get high for? Baby if you wanna leave When your baby's so die for? Come to California, be a freak like me, too Quit your job let's make a ride for Screw your anonymity It's us against the world Loving me is all you need to feel If you want a cola Like I do I can make it colder We could slow dance to rock music If you want a bad girl Kiss while we do it Nobody's bolder Talk till we both turn blue And if you want the Queen of New York then you Baby, if you wanna leave Better call me, call me Come to California, be a freak like me, too -

Let Me Love You Like a Woman (Single) - OUT NOW: October 16th, 2020

This song felt very country to me. Then, it reminded me of Folklore. However, when I listened to Folklore I thought Taylor just did a huge rip off/got heavily inspired by Norman Fucking Rockwell. Overall, I feel this song is very NFR, but more stripped down. Kind of a more layed back Mariner's Apartment Complex, both sonically and lyrically. Do I think this is as single worthy as Mariner's was? No. -

So the Honeymoon covers takes a more realistic turn? She rides the famous houses tour bus to get to her home?! Haha This is her acknowledging the weirdness of LA, and also a small moment of the freedom of being single for a little while -
Those nights were on fire We couldn't get higher We didn't know that we had it all But nobody warns you before the fall vs A little party never hurt no one Not you and me A little party never hurt no one We were born to be free
