Was this an attempt to embarrass her? Like, I just don't get it. People are just so goddamn cruel. For ratings.

I don’t want to beat a dead horse but I just saw the clip of when they announced aoty again and the way the camera fully focuses on lana for the first five seconds instead of even trying to get taylor’s reaction is actually fucking diabolical…..

At the end of the day, Lana looks good in all of this ,
Very classy and elegant. A true class act. Taylor is… well, taylor. I appreciate in a lot of ways taylor saying the very true words she said on stage about Lana. What I don’t love personally is the way taylor “babied” Lana throughout the night. I personally feel a little ick about it. Lana is an icon. She doesn’t need to be taken under any wing. However it’s still going to come across as a good moment in a lot of ways in the long run, as Lana remained humble, elegant, and low key in midst of all the taylor mania. Lana is a true artist, she’s in a leage of her own.
Grammys are pretty scammy tbh. Although I know we all want to see her sweep   , she’s truly above it.

Being friends with Taylor Swift would be very difficult, I think.

I was so sure she was going to win at least ONE grammy but wow….

I completely agree with this, most of us here know that lana is awkward and nervous on stage, id imagine if you were lanas FRIEND you would also know that. I think her heart was in the right place but her ego was there first, because this is what she would have wanted, not what lana would . even with the lana is hiding comment it's clear she's only thinking of herself, because clearly she can tell lana is uncomfortable if she can comment on it. i do truly believe taylor thought she was being nice but that doesn't mean it was the right way to do it

My husbands response to this is that Lana needs to drop Jack as a producer so Lana isn’t left in Taylor’s shadow

im also a bit meh about Taylor announcing her new album and its title, Lana is a real poet, don’t come for that status too

Yes but that's what polite people do not TS.
I agree with you , she shouldn't attend it anymore. I just saw today that Guns n Roses , one of Lana's favorite bands ( also mine ) never won a Grammy. I always assumed they did. Does it make them less legendary ? No.
    Same applies to Lana.
Time is the best judge , let's see who will still be relevant on the next decade , hint Lana.

I think there’s a way to acknowledge someone else’s impact, and show them affection, and it’s not by forcibly dragging that person to come on stage after they lost an award to you. But then again, Taylor always gives main character energy and her actions often come across as performative. I agreed with what she said about Lana though—she deserves her own flowers.

Anyways, the Grammys are still a scam, just another weird, circlejerky industry thing where actual talent doesn’t necessarily gets recognized or acknowledged. Lana should not even bother attending at this point, she should just make music and dip honestly. These things are only as important as we make them out to be.

Boygenius look like they’d be the roommates that accuse you of emotional abuse if you ask them to wash their mouldy dishes

honestly almost more depressing than the snubs is what a showcase these events are for how much basic decorum we lack as a society these days... it's hard to believe these shows were once high class... people would dress in their best to go & behave accordingly. when someone won, they usually kept it brief but sincere. no phoney or overzealous behaviors- just to the point, professional & natural. Lol between sza running to the stage like a drunk mess with her phone out, miley telling everyone she has no underwear on & the entire first minute of taylor's AOTY acceptance.... just bye. Bring back the finishing schools

Skfnsk a tiktok edit just popped up on my FYP of clips of Lana with Taylor during her win set to the “always an angel, never a god” part of boygenius’ Not Strong Enough and it destroyed me a little skkk because it’s so true! The whole night, she was the angel. Looking beautiful, giving hugs to Taylor for her wins, standing amongst a seated crowd to clap for Billie during her win, even joining Taylor up on stage as she lost against her while smiling solemnly in the shadows. But she wasn’t the god. She didn’t get that dedicated, shining moment of praise from the industry that she deserved. Yet, she still showed support for everyone else and still kept a smile on her face. & it’s been that way her whole career. She paved the way for so many artists who have now reached major success, always showing her love and support for them, while she rarely ever gets the credit for it herself. Always an angel, never a god.. (also the fact the edit was set to that boygenius song made it hurt even more since they won one of her noms skkk)
I am also one of the people in the bunch who are still running on 3 hours of sleep, so it’s time for me to turn in before I get more delusional loool. Tomorrow’s a new day xx

I know everyone is fuming and it is frustrating for sure. I hope she doesn’t submit her albums anymore TBH.

however, she had stiff competition in her categories. Not that I think that others were more deserving, but I can understand why others took home the gold (although I thought boy genius was way overhyped, I know critics are them up, so it’s no surprise they won for Alt Album).

however, Best Alternative Performance going to Paramore on a song I never even heard of instead of A&W?!?  THAT ONE is a stolen Grammy from her.

2023 was literally her year. it’s sad these old voters don't realize how important she is

i’m really so heartbroken tonight. obviously its just an award and it’s not that important at the end of the day and i’m also happy for taylor as i do really like her music and even went to the eras tour. but when is the industry going to take lana del rey seriously? she paved the way for so many artists and young creatives today. without her, the music industry wouldnt be the same without her. its just so hard to watch her work her ass off only to get none of the recognition that she so clearly deserves. maybe its insane of me to care this much, but i don’t care. lana birthed a whole generation of artists who constantly praise her and credit her as their biggest inspiration, so why do the floating heads behind the curtain continuously refuse to take her seriously? i don’t know. i’m just really sad.

So sad, setting her up with 5 nominations just to let her down hard. Was it intentional? As far as I’m concerned, the industry and media still hates her because she’s everything they’re not.

God bless Taylor for bringing her on stage and RECOGNIZING HER.
