Can anyone recommend a good record player that’s not crazy expensive? I haven’t owned one in years and I don’t want to just go out and get one of those “mainstream” box/briefcase ones that probably won’t produce very good audio quality. Is it better to try to find a more vintage one that’s in good shape? I don’t really know where to start lol

So I might be a lil high by the beach right now (but not on a beach), but I’m listening to a LDR live performance of Candy Necklaces and it’s kind of hitting me. Is it just me or does the performance seem kind of off? Like not in a bad way. I can’t tell if she’s nervous or just very emotional, but there’s something definitely going on here. Maybe it’s just too much (emotion or whatever) for her to perform live? Trying to rationalize why she rarely plays this live. Help me make sense of this lol

The Beatles' last song 'Now And Then' is finally released

For anyone who doesn’t know, they attempted to make this song for the Anthology release in the mid-90s. Stemming from an old demo tape from John, at the time, they were unable to isolate John’s voice under the piano, so it was scrapped. After the recent Get Back documentary, which led to new AI technology, they were able to go back and isolate John’s track. The clarity of his voice is really astonishing from the rip. This is a well rounded track and honestly sounds far better than the other two releases from the Anthology series. A very fitting end to the Beatles catalog. Thank you for sharing and reminding us that it was just released today. How many bands can say that they made music together for over 60 years? -
This was tough. I took some time to go back and reflect. Here’s what I came to with: 1. Ultraviolence 2. Honeymoon 3. Born to Die / Paradise* 4. NFR! 5. Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd 6. Chemtrails over the Country Club 7. Lust for Life 8. Blue Banisters

Came here got the For Free soundcheck, leaving before all the negative vibes take over

I like instrumentals and instrumental sections. Lyrics are great, don’t get me wrong, but not every song has to be three minutes, faced paced and full of words. Maybe that’s why I love Venice Bitch so much

Uh, not really. I live in Oklahoma. Many of the natives were crammed into here a century ago. This is some of the worst land in the country. Very dry, difficult to farm, riddled with droughts, tornadoes and wildfires. Now they just have very small slices of land here that are mostly desolate anyway. (but let’s try to stay on topic here)

She’s impulsive as always. She had good intentions. Some people feel like silence sends the wrong message, but it does seem like the best decision is to stay out of something like this unless one has a well formed opinion or a direct connection to the situation. A lot of overreacting, but most of us are diehard fans. Everything she does is under a microscope. She’s impulsive af and most likely had good intentions here. Celebs generally aren’t known for being foreign event experts. Especially in the day and age where most of us get our news from random Facebook articles or Instagram posts.

New Song “Suburban House” by Holly Macve feat. LDR - Out Now!
Quincy replied to That Venice Bitch's topic in New Releases
Idk, I expected that to be my response, but I just finished listening to it for the first time and I really enjoyed it. It’s certainly not a top Lana track or a top collab, but it’s getting a spot on some of my playlists. It’s dreamy and dare I say, even a bit heavenly. I can see the comparisons to Disney or something, but who cares. It’s creative, soothing and I like the vibe. It could almost fit on Lost at Sea. -
All this blah blah blah about rich vs. poor Lizzy Grant is a big snooze fest BORING idc

You can have nice things and still not be rich. You can also be a part of a wealthy family and still have to work your ass off to gain individual success.

Funny/Cringe/No Context Internet Content About Lana
Quincy replied to Embach's topic in Lana Thoughts
Assuming you know who Ricardo is (obsessive fan who is borderline stalkerish and goes to almost every single Lana concert, forcing himself to barricade and acting like a gatekeeper. He also finds ways to track Lana down at other places/events.), he’s been getting called out more and more frequently lately. I’m not sure specifically triggered it, but I heard there was something on Twitter. I’ve seen a lot of people call him out on the LDR subreddit page recently. He’s making empty threats because people have been calling him out lately for questionable behavior. The LDR subreddit mods went as far as to say we’re not allowed to talk about him anymore on the page lol If you’re going to be a public figure and act like an entitled brat, of course people online are going to scrutinize you. -

Until last night and every mod reply to me has been massively downvoted haha He has no case against anyone unless there were actual death threats. I’m highly suspicious of that. It’s incredibly difficult to prove and win a defamation suit. He needs to sit tf down -

Yeah it’s all over Reddit too. The mods said no one is allowed to post about him anymore on there -
redacted Mods made a post saying no more calling out you know who and the thread is hysterical.

I’m not sure about this. Roger has sole songwriting credits on the track. If the end result was a pop radio song, but Roger wrote most of the song, that doesn’t jive. When Dave played this song with post-Waters Floyd, they often included an extended blues jazz jam session. Dave is definitely more of a blues player than Roger. But my intention is not to start an argument

Does anyone still use this? I used to be a Twitter user, but found myself using it less and less over the last few years. “X” is an Xing joke now. I never had much interest in Threads. I’ve been trying to ween myself off social media. I guess LanaBoards is filling some of the voids in my social media lifestyle haha

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I really think that Pink Floyd was bigger than any one person, although many would argue Syd was the face and driving force of The Floyd in the late 60s. I appreciated when the Gilmour-led Floyd opened some of their 94’ tour gigs with Astronomy Domine. Anyway, have you had an opportunity to listen to Roger’s new take on DSOTM? I’m curious to hear a review from someone who’s a bigger Roger fan.
