I’m not sure about this. Roger has sole songwriting credits on the track. If the end result was a pop radio song, but Roger wrote most of the song, that doesn’t jive. When Dave played this song with post-Waters Floyd, they often included an extended blues jazz jam session. Dave is definitely more of a blues player than Roger. But my intention is not to start an argument

Does anyone still use this? I used to be a Twitter user, but found myself using it less and less over the last few years. “X” is an Xing joke now. I never had much interest in Threads. I’ve been trying to ween myself off social media. I guess LanaBoards is filling some of the voids in my social media lifestyle haha

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I really think that Pink Floyd was bigger than any one person, although many would argue Syd was the face and driving force of The Floyd in the late 60s. I appreciated when the Gilmour-led Floyd opened some of their 94’ tour gigs with Astronomy Domine. Anyway, have you had an opportunity to listen to Roger’s new take on DSOTM? I’m curious to hear a review from someone who’s a bigger Roger fan.

Any Floyd junkies here? What’s your opinion on Waters vs. Gilmour? I always had a slight preference to David Gilmour. His guitar work defines many of Floyd’s classic songs, not to mention he had lead vocals on the majority of their records. He also seemed to be much more down to earth and, frankly, less obnoxious. I’ve seen them both (Roger and David) solo. The shows were great. I preferred Dave’s shows, but I have to admit seeing The Wall by Roger was something else. Definitely a top concert. Anyway, Roger’s ego and some political statements have definitely rubbed me the wrong way. He’s also said nasty things about his former bandmates over the years. He just released a Dark Side of the Moon “Redux” that I haven’t brought myself to listen to. I just find his demeanor and ego very off putting, plus the whole concept of the redux seems like a slap in the face to Floyd. Apparently he had a concert recently where he lashed out at the fans. So very Roger of him. Has anyone listened to it? Does anyone else have opinions on Roger or Dave?

It was strange it didn’t thank me for signing up or confirm that I validated my information lol Maybe they’re just testing it to get a feel for how many people are still interested? hint: it’s a lot

She shouldn’t play huge stadium tours. The smaller venues are much more intimate and less chaotic. I think larger venues as a one off or for special occasions, like Mexico City are fine, but otherwise it takes away from the experience. She really connects with smaller crowds in a profound way. What she should do is put that damn newsletter to good use. Allow diehard fans to access ticket presales rather than the scammy setup we had for this last leg. That solves the issue of fans complaining that she should not play smaller venues due to challenges getting tickets.

I didn’t even get that. My page just says “sign up for exclusive info” which I already have… and that this is “the official source for now on.”

Sameeee hope I’m verifying for a reason, other than to get my hopes up again

This is such an ambiguous statement that leaves the door open for just about anything. I took it to mean that she’s going to be out traveling (most likely not touring) over the coming months, meeting and interacting with fans along the way. I wouldn’t be surprised if she is casually scouting out locations/venues along the way. I’m a skeptic by nature and we know that she generally makes impulsive decisions, rather than planning far in advance. Hope it a dangerous thing… but I do think she will have at least a few performances next year. Full blown tour or another leg? That remains to be seen.

I consider us very lucky to get all these shows this year. And to think, just a few months ago we only expected a few festivals. I don’t think there’s another leg this year. Time is running out. Weather is getting colder. Lanita needs a bit of a break. Manifesting a West Coast leg and international dates in the spring.

I think she intended on doing Hope, but maybe her extended speech cut into time. She was probably told to get off stage and she didn’t fight it -

No Summertime, no Hope and Ocean Blvd was cut short. (It usually has an extended outro when it's the closing song) -

He’s always there. She tends to skip at the larger venues it seems. I can’t blame her. -
