Miley's roots are very much country-based. And she does it really well.
-
Can't believe she actually came through with coming to the Middle East and Australia, like, wow she's actually getting off her ass and getting on that plane again and dreaming about heroin... looks like she really does have a lust for life.

does anybody have a link to the full documentary? don't have a netflix subscription right now so can't really watch it anywhere

Wow what the hell this is like the best thing they've ever done, and that's saying a lot considering I love all of their past albums. Literally every song is brilliant! I particularly love the beats on You Get Me So High, the higher notes and stop-start melodic feeling on 24/7 and the entire vibe and lyrics of Sadderdaze. Everything is great though. I hope this is an indication of where they're heading with their next full length album!

Ooooh, I need to download now and have a listen. Brb!

I love the video, it's so visually pleasing but I'm not sure how it fits into the story/leads into the next era. I guess we'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

Did any of you see her interview with NOWNESS? It was so cute and insightful, I love Björk so much what a Queen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmurQWZY4qs

I can't believe y'all keep bumping this thread to post those irrelevant, fake ass lyrics. I keep thinking I'm Not Hungry Anymore has leaked lol!

This is literally the BEST VIDEO Björk has ever done, in my opinion. Visually it is so stunning and it really transmits the message about a transcendent love in such an aesthetically pleasing well. I love the opening scene where she has the flute and also the rest of the video with her vibrant outfit. I like how the outfit is similar to the ones from Vulnicura, but clearly more beautiful and effervescent. The song has grown on me a lot since my first listen and I definitely think the video has helped with that considering the mesmerising visuals. Its actually a lot more intense than I initially realized.

Ok, I know this is not really "world news" per se, but I thought this was hilarious and needed to be shared... Donald Trump has officially retweeted a post by a Lana Del Rey fan. See for yourself: https://twitter.com/glamourizes/status/909381635249860610 I don't know if it's just me but I find this so funny and cannot stop laughing about this. I guess it goes without saying we really are the most fucked fanbase when one of our own posts this kind of tacky and delusional shit. Also is she literally that oblivious that her idol's latest album is very much a criticism of Trump and his policies... lol.... delusional much? And also the President of the US of A is so random retweeting something from a literal fan page lmao!

Didn't like it at first but now that I've got my head around it, it's actually quite nice. I keep getting the, "I'll care for you" melody stuck in my head

That's a good question and it's what I was thinking too. I also want to know whether this psychology course is actually like a proper course at a university or more of a club/interest group type of thing just for people who want to learn about it but not necessarily study the subject full-on. Idk, I feel like that would distinguish whether she is taking this kind of study seriously or its more just something she wants to learn about.

I feel quite conflicted about reading this, to be honest. On the one hand, I'm glad that she's taken out time to reconnect with herself and discover who she really is and wants to be. It's good to see her exploring different interests, like how she has been doing lots of artwork and putting together flower bouquets and things like that lately, and she is going to take a course in Psychology. It's good she's not feeling like there's pressure to come back in the limelight and rush her music just for the sake of putting something out there. But on the other hand, it's deeply saddening to me that, firstly, we may be waiting a very long time until we get new music from her (although that sounds extremely selfish and I know that she owes us nothing, but I have longed for new music from her for the last few years). I also find it quite sad that she feels that she doesn't know who she is anymore and has been suffering this sort of, existential crisis, if you will and that she thinks her career as an artist has been more of a persona than a real expression of the self. It almost feels like everything we have come to know about Marina has maybe just been a sort of image. Either way, I hope that she keeps posting new content on her "marinabook" and perhaps at some point this will lead into a new era of music and art. She says that she is constantly changing as a person, and I agree - her views on just about everything have constantly been switching throughout her career, for example, in TFJ she hated the pop world and spoke rather unfavourably about Dr. Luke but then in EH she suddenly wanted to embrace pop music and even worked with people like Dr. Luke, only to revert back to her TFJ opinion with FROOT and become a complete purist, working alongside only one other person. Hopefully she will move on from this "phase" (for lack of better word) of not feeling like herself and not wanting to put out any music. I think that most of us would still be here to embrace whatever direction she takes next with her music. Personally, I'm here for the ride - I just feel like she's disappeared for so long, so in a way, I am glad she's writing out her thoughts, even if it is half-frustrating for me to hear that she's not sure when new music will be coming out and she's not really that focused on it right now.

I don't really care how many songs there are as long as they're fucking good. I doubt there'd be less than Vulnicura, though - she seems to be in a much better place right now and considering the speed at which she is releasing this album I think she's been quite inspired.

Lust For Life - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
delreyfreak replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
Keep forgetting to post this, but every time she says the line, "Out of the black, into the blue" in Get Free, the visual image that comes to my mind is of Lana walking through the soft, dark granules of sand at a beautiful Icelandic beach, then feeling the fresh ocean breeze brush against her body as she freely embraces the ocean. Examples below: I think it was the lyric in Summer Bummer where she says, "white lines and black beaches" that made me picture this. I wonder if she intentionally chose this imagery to keep the album consistent, or whether that line in Get Free is more symbolic and doesn't relate to the ocean at all. To me, it would make sense that it is this image that she's singing about, considering the sound of ocean waves at the end of the track. The male actor in her upcoming video for White Mustang is also an Icelandic composer, as a side note, so I wonder if this has any relevance to the thematic element of black beaches, since they are most commonly found in the volcanic regions of Iceland. Who knows? Perhaps "out of the black, into the blue" is purely color symbolism, but it's interesting to think of it as having a different meaning, and it makes complete sense to me considering the sounds in Get Free and the possibility of this line being a lyrical allusion to Summer Bummer. -
What is wrong with y'all? That guy is hawttttt EDIT: and he's from Iceland... no wonder
