update now! i’m all in. i’ve been reading interviews for each song on yessaid and am taking my TIME with this!! absorbing and feeling everything. i went back to Little Earthquakes and had time with that and the b-sides, now I’m on the UTP b-sides. Currently, my favorites are Flying Dutchman, Winter, Precious Things, Mary, Honey, Cornflake Girl, and the live version of Sugar on Venus Live, Still Orbiting (I was curious and went ahead!!) — but I love every song. I really am obsessed with the live version of Sugar right now. Oh my god. And when she said “I've written a song called "Sugar" about those people you meet that you'll never have a relationship with, but if you could have 25 minutes alone with them, you'd have this incredible affair. There's something magical and you want to merge with it in every way possible. That's why I could imagine being a carnivore thousands of years ago; you want to merge with them so intensely you could almost eat them. I’m so glad I’ve started to dive deep into Tori Amos’s music!! Her writing is amazing and like. I get it. Some people in youtube interview comments may call her a kook but no no she’s just on another level. Anyways. This performance of “Sugar”.
