I thought exactly the same.
I think with l+f we were expecting 'why' she was missing so long, some angst and explanation in her music (which is in some outtakes like demons + angels) but she came around with 'enjoy your life! :)' which was disingenuous, and we all knew it, including her. adiaml feels more honest but her writing still isn't up to par, though that's more evident on the political tracks rather than personal ones imo.
I'm not sure she can ever get to MATD levels again but I'd rather be pleasantly surprised rather than let down, she writes best when she's writing from specific* personal experiences or has a theme (adiaml title track springs to mind, and obviously electra heart). (*she admitted she didn't do this for l+f, she wrote 'generally' and why I think her cover of 'only want you' from the era feels like it could have been on the album)
I agree with you, I actually wrote a bit more in my original post but deleted it because it felt too long. but in short, my opinion is to get around the accusations that you're only coming out to 'sell' something is you either make the product good, and therefore it doesn't need selling, or you form a parasocial relationship to sell the product, marina isn't doing either and that's where she's been falling short.
there are successful artists that don't interact with their fanbases at all and just drop music and hide away again, but I think if you didn't start that way it's quite difficult to make the transition, you almost have to make the music twice as good to make up for the lack of interaction, which again, she hasn't been doing and I can't see her doing. (as much as I would like her to bring out a 10/10 album and would be happy to be proven wrong.)

Interacting with your fans is not the only way to grow a fan base, most artists do by simply making good music. Madonna managed to keep her fanbase engaged for 50 years and all it took was making good music.

I have always thought she’s a natural entertainer, beyond just her music… she has always been funny in her own way, and it was very gratifying seeing her do so well with the sketch comedy!

The median voter, the ones who decide elections, do not give a flying fuck about LGBTQ+ issues. These are the fringest of fringe issues. I've said it before, and @cheaptrailertrashglm is echoing it again, this election came down to if the middle class felt that they were better off today than they were 5 years ago under Trump. The answer was a resounding "no." 
 
75 million people did not show up and vote for Trump because they care about trans women in sports. 70 million people did not show up and vote for Harris because she will continue to allow gender affirming surgery for prison inmates. 
 
The Democrats (the establishment ones--not Bernie and AOC's flank) need to realize that they do not have a winning coalition without white, middle class workers. 
 
What the conservative talking points on LGBTQ+/trans issues did help the Republicans with is that it solidified their message of being "the common-sense party." Even though our small, left-leaning LB community may not agree with that, the majority of the US thinks that spending time and money on LGBTQ+ issues is a waste, and nothing but "wokeism". 
 
The next generation of Democrats needs to realize that they need to simplify their messaging. They cannot be everything to everyone. They cannot be pro-fracking in PA, and in the same breath also be the party that believes in climate change. They cannot be the party of economic growth, but also implement carbon taxes. They cannot promise to be the outsiders who will go against the elites, and then bring out Lady Gaga and Beyoncé to campaign stops. 
 
The Democrats need to position themselves in the next election as "common sense outsiders," promising to make the economy better for everyone. Kamala Harris's "Opportunity Economy" was just a remarketing of the "American Dream" ideal that everyone can and wants to be an entrepreneur. That dream is dead, and most Americans don't want an "opportunity economy", they just want an economy where they can work 40 hours a week and not feel like they're still coming up short. After they are elected, they can devote some time, quietly, to expanding LGBTQ+ rights, access to abortion, and other socially progressive agenda items--but they cannot run on it. 
 
(They also need a way to build a non-traditional media apparatus, because the venn diagram of people who read/watch traditional news and vote blue is becoming a circle, but that's a different conversation.)
 
If 2028's Presidential nominee does not win, the Democratic Party will be dead for the next decade. 

while a national abortion ban is definitely in the realm of possibilities i personally think it's more likely they'll just leave it up to the states. people voted overwhelmingly in support of abortion rights this year even in red states. we'll have to see how states rights on these issues pan out, and i think this will also pertain to things like obergefell.
the biggest obstacle to the conservative agenda right now is trump's inevitable plan to just rob the government blind and make it completely unable to enforce any kind of regulation

Charli doesn't have any worse albums but if anything: SUCKER is a least favorite as it's not much of an authentic record tho I can still enjoy it. Like she hates Break The Rules and Boom Clap (even tho it kinda fits) wasn't meant for the album originally. SUCKER was intended to be more commercial. True Romance is one of her best but no one is ready for that conversation. Crash is also cute but its underwhelming imo, Idk how to explain it. But anyway I dont rank stuff personally bc i dont like the idea of having this best to worst list (cba to explain it i just woke up) but my top 3 is BRAT (and the remix album), True Romance and Pop 2.
