  1. I understand where you are coming from. So far, the actual Lana fan community has been rather small and personal. There was a sense of intimacy between her and her fans. I do also understand that now that her popularity is rising, it might appear to some as if this would go away, but I don't think so. You talk about people at your school beginning to like her? Well, I doubt they are as interested in her work as we are on here. The point is that the overall part of her audience are people that like a couple of songs, preferably those played on the radio. I am in no way implying that they are less of a fan, but you have got to see that many people liking her won't change the fact that you are her fan or that you know the things you do. There is no problem if you ask me. Just don't let this affect you and go on being the fan you've always been. Maybe there will be a few people at your school that show similar interest in her work, ever thought about that?
  2. She looks beautiful... Thanks for posting!

Off-topic, but I just saw your avatar and thought: "Man, you look a lot like Berrie..."

Keep in mind that especially in terms of feminism, many things have been unsaid in the early 1990s. Feisty women in popular music have been rather rare at this point.

I am certainly not a fan of hers, but if she's such a mediocre musical act, then why do you, who is so obviously mature and has a brilliant taste in music, honor her with your attention and offend those that do listen to her music. Now that's really mature.

Yes, in the course of two years Tori submitted various versions of the album including songs that would later end up as b-sides. Most songs aside from the piano-driven songs were basically produced on behalf of the Atlantic Records wanting songs that could serve as singles. Especially the lyrical content of many songs seemed very risky... and yes, the piano should originally be replaced by guitars. It's not too hard, actually. She can't play complex compositions at both hands at the same time. But the concentration she has...

That was H&M. But concert agencies usually are very generous when it comes to this. Why wouldn't they? Just call or write an e-mail. http://www.mlk.com/impressum

I don't know who the promoter is, but if you find out, contact them and ask them for posters. I'm sure they will send you a couple of folded ones. Did that many times already...

Tori never seemed to be very lucky with her record labels. Atlantic Records gave her a hard time, especially with Choirgirl and Venus. Earthquakes went through two stressful years of structuring and restructuring until the label thought it could be marketed. Pele was just as awful. She had to fight a lot for the music to be the way she wanted it to be. The fact that Strange Little Girls is a cover album only shows how she had zero intentions with giving Atlantic any new material. When she signed with Sony she was given a comparably awful time since Scarlet's Walk and The Beekeeper are far from being commercial. To deliver an easy and uncomplicated album to fulfill her contract she recorded Posse. Then she signed with Universal and has ever since released her albums with their affiliated companies...

I'm also annoyed by any non-Tori voice on Night of Hunters. It's just... it doesn't fit. Well, American Doll Posse was seen by many as some kind of forced contract fulfillment. Which is sad because this album has lots of potential, too, but I sort of dislike the recycled character idea from Strange Little Girls. It feels kind of... tacky.

You know what... Night of Hunters... Her concept albums since 2001 have been generally complex but this one is so hard to get into. Will take me a couple of more years...

It took me years to get into Pele... but yeah, yeah... The mastering of Choirgirl is so amazing...
  17. I'd rather invest time in reading valuable works instead of conspiracy theories made up by a bunch of extra-troubled individuals back in the 1990s when the web 1.0 had just launched websites as the start of digital identity management. That was my exact facial expression and gesture.
  18. You edited it. I really don't care what you believe in. However, what I do care about is how you assume everybody else does, too... ...deep down inside.

From the Choirgirl Hotel. You? Guess which song on the album the photo I chose relates to.
  20. Exactly. I love how you generalize your obsession with this topic and are sure enough to express this in some "absolute" and pretentious statement.
  21. Look. It's reality looking right at you, laughing.
