k lets try this one more time "WASP is an *informal* term, sometimes derogatory or disparaging, for a closed group of high-status Americans; a group believed to control disproportionate social and financial power." i could go on and provide examples of wasp stereotypes that again, have *nothing* to do with faith, but i feel like even this post will be lost on you -- because in your mind, this is lanaboards, so we are only allowed to discuss topics or artists that lana would approve of

k i didn't think it would be necessary to bold the relevant portions of the information i quoted but i'll do it now "WASP is an informal term, sometimes derogatory or disparaging, for a closed group of high-status Americans; a group believed to control disproportionate social and financial power." my usage of the term had nothing to do with her denomination

also, "WASP is an informal term, sometimes derogatory or disparaging, for a closed group of high-status Americans; a group believed to control disproportionate social and financial power." u are such a b&w thinker omg stop it

why couldn't this be the cover???????????? its so minimal, but still rather ~breathtaking imo i like the actual cover except for the fonts; the colors are really beautiful and its eye-catching (which i guess is most important). but the cover above conveys way more artistry without being too *obvious* like the official one

"child model gets distracted by fig newton" what a WASP-y early life, i dunno if it makes her teenage alcoholism seem more or less credible. lmao @ the twin peaks comparison tho, its so fitting for her

speaking of 400 lux this song was nearly impossible to upload (which is strange, because ribs was really easy to get online. does that mean 400 lux is the next single or something?)

Lana Del Rey Officially Announces TROPICO, "Coming to a City Near You"

honestly i doubt its going to premiere tomorrow. if it were purely an internet release, maybe, but its supposed to premiere at physical locations so if she actually wanted people to like, show up she'd need to give some sort of notice in advance, no? i don't live in LA and so i'd personally need to plan ahead. if she randomly decided to have the premiere at the cemetery tomorrow night i'd kill her bitch needs to get a fucking calendar. either that, or stop LYING -
Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

i think they're both marketed as 'indie' girls and they mash a variety of paradoxical genres together [EDM x slo-jam x pop] vs. [orchestra x hip hop x pop]. that, and they both have relatively deep voices but thats where the similarities end i think? i've yet to really sit down and listen to the entire album. i mean they're both pretty still pretty 'new', and so its natural that they're going to draw comparisons. its stupid for critics to bash lana though, i mean, i bet theres still a bit of residual hate beneath the surface of that article. instead of trashing her for being 'inauthentic' or unable to sing now they're just able to say "oh hey heres a girl who can do it all better than her, minus the surgeries" etc but its funny how the author of that article still devotes half of the text to lana. if lorde is so great (in his or her eyes) -- does she not deserve an entire article to herself? obviously lana's made a sizable impact on the industry (and lorde as well, since she continues to bring her up)

i think the only times she's mentioned food, she's mentioned eating lots of junk food, spaghetti, and chocolate cake not surprised that her palette is rather ~american

should i rename this "random lana conversation"?
-
i dunno, status updates seem more personal and/or random. i mean, people use them to make requests and ask general questions (which there are threads for) so i don't see why there can't be an ongoing thread where these 'minor' thoughts don't get so easily lost in the shuffle

i think muiccia prada might have been a bit inspired by lana's face this season or is this like when those religious fanatics see the face of jesus in their log of cheese
