Havent seen the new season, but it's a good show! I lowkey didn't want to care for it until my bf was midway through season 1 early last year and I did the dad standing in font of the tv thing until i got hooked. I just hope they don't start to drag the storyline. I feel with stories like these they can only feel fresh so long

the fact we have specific percentages of who wrote what words is alarming

Ribs deserves to be in a Top 20 list for best song ever made in the history of music recording. There’s a lot of music where I go “hmm, they should’ve done this with the synths and that with the background vocals instead” but Ribs is rare, uneditable gold. Can’t believe it’s 10 years since this record dropped. I was in 11th grade and I remember getting Ribs for free when Apple had their free “iTunes song of the week.” This entire album poetically encapsulates teenagehood, loneliness, and the Fall Season so perfectly. Thank U Lorde + PH for being there when no one else was.

I don’t think most people would disagree with you, even some in the beehive. Her singing sells where she falls short in writing her own music, meaning that she conveys very well the emotions the lyrics are trying to portray and is why many of her fans don’t mind that she’s not the one penning her songs. I also notice that many of her fans care more about her vocal abilities than whatever words she is singing. There is no doubt that she has a whole machine behind her, and she doesn’t really hide it either. Especially with her tours, videos, and music production. She is a perfectionist, which rubs people the wrong way and makes her art come across as fake or void of emotion. But I think she has realized that and the shift has been happening since self-titled. There have been many hiccups in the renaissance tour and she doesn’t seem to mind as much as she used to. She is now in the process of building her legacy She is at a point now where she is making music for herself; Self titled was a dip into that water and Lemonade/BLACK IS KING/Renaissance are evidence of that. She’s still making contemporary pop music, but with more thought and work behind it. The stealing thing is weird to me because she’s always been adamant of giving credit where it’s due, which is why it seems like 30 people wrote a song when it’s only 5, and the rest are credited people from whatever sample or interlude she and her producers used for said song. I will say that she had hiccups with Renaissance, but Kelis’ reaction should’ve been directed at Pharrell since he is the one who did not credit Kelis on her own song. Beyoncé team simply copied and pasted the legal credit team as it exists in the copyright world. Also Right Said Fred going after her for not crediting them when she clearly did since the album release is just attention seeking. I am only a casual fan/listener that has enjoyed her growth. I’m sure someone here may give better response to your opinion. edit: and yeah Cater2U has gotten me looking side eye now that I know the lyrics. Michelle always does great as usual

Happy BDay to her magunm opus, to the album that i clicked with the most, the album that is my #1 of all time, the album that describes melancholy & heartbreak perfectly. thank u Lana -
the transition of the song is like suffocation, a moment of shock, your mind trying to conceptualize all of your life's trauma. 6:44 is like a switch, the weight of all of it is collapsing on you top 3 song of her career

I only know like 3 songs and I'm not well educated on the whole "and the Scene" era [only her solo stuff] but i've always saw it as a front; a writing camp wrote and produced the songs while Selena and the [barely advertised/promo'ed] "band" were just faces that "played" the music, just like any product that Hollywood Records churns out. I could be wrong tough! But I agree, i need miss Gomez to leave Julia Michaels alone for a second and get some new writers, and not the ones who made "Snore Soon" either

her label not letting her put out an album right after WAP is criminal. i dont get the delays for the sophomore record
-
She should put out a 30-song album of outtakes and demos, marking the end of an era, re-rebrand to Marina Diamandis, and a year after, put out a 10-song pop-rock album with good features

Intriguing that the same people who love to eat up SAW, Jason, and other nasty gore horror movies are calling these Doja music videos satanic and demonic and pleading god to save them for seeing these videos... lmfao pick a side pick a side!!!
-
The Illuminati put crack on Paint The Town bc its so good
-
Does she talk about the symbolism in her videos? It gives me "join my cult thought brainwashing" tease
-
...when did she and Taylor had a fallout?
-
Last Time I Saw Ai sounds like an AI "singing" over a Queen-era reject. Did she run out of producers orrrr?
-
take that back NEOOWWW. lotta songs from that era molded fast, but that one holds pretty well as a club song These labels heard one Doja Cat song and said copy + paste
