What's the best Lana x The Weeknd collab? (poll)
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to latothemoon's topic in Lana Thoughts
In my opinion, Prisoner and Lust for Life are both good, solid tracks. Stargirl, however, is so unprecedented in Lana's catalog-- the energy and vibe it gives off are so otherworldly and so unlike the things she's done before, and I think that's due to the Weeknd's touch on it. I hail it as one of my favorite Lana songs and a completely transcendental minute and some change. Breathtaking x -
Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
Hm, you might be right. When the demo CD leaked, though, I was almost sure either Lisandro or someone knowledgeable said that the only difference between Ruby and the original PMIAM demo was that Ruby was higher quality. I could definitely be wrong, though. -

sparklrtrailrheaven replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
I'm almost completely sure they're the same thing. They sound a bit different when I listen to them back-to-back, but I think that's only because Ruby is a pretty substantial audio quality improvement from the original leak. -
Ooh, I feel something, baby I've been feeling you so hard Got a figure like a pin-up Ooh, baby love, my baby love I'm standing at the crossroads of love Rescue me Some moments that I've had In this age of grand illusion Empties lined along the porch You know why I don't want to see you These little stanzas all sound very separate, lol. This is fun, though!

Has anyone here tried to compile an exhaustive timeline of Lana's recordings/photoshoots/performances/etc.? Lana's past has the tendency to be confusing, so it seems to me that it could help us sort things out if everything we know was sequenced in a way. I'm attempting to put one together, but I imagine someone with more knowledge could do it much more adequately. (@@evilentity, you were my first thought )

There are so many songs from Sirens/YLM/FTE that I get stuck in my head/sing nearly every day-- In Wendy, You Mister, More Mountains, A Star for Nick, Drive By.... -
Stevie Nicks Featured on 'Lust For Life'
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to Say Yes to Heaven's topic in Latest News
THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST NEWS I'VE HEARD IN SUCH A LONG TIME Stevie and Lana both rank in my top 5 favorite artists of all time-- of the 5, one is dead and one doesn't do collabs, so this is incredible. Two of my favorite icons, together. I'm shook in every sense of the word -
Lust For Life (ft. The Weeknd)
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to SarcasticBeauty's topic in Lust for Life
I doubt this is what Lana intended, but I really like the theory! I didn't like the blandness/starkness/cliche of the line, so I think I'm going to think of it this way when I listen -

Make Up to Break Up - Siouxsie and the Banshees 3. Super Trouper - ABBA 4. Electric Lady - Janelle Monae feat. Solange 5. I'm Gonna Make You Love Me - Diana Ross & the Supremes feat. The Temptations 6. Call Me - Kali Uchis 7. This is the Day - The The 8. Turn Turn Turn - Mary Hopkin 9. Born to Die - LDR 10. Memory of a Free Festival (Part 2) - David Bowie

That's what I was tempted to do, but I've also always got a nagging voice telling me to keep tracklists the way she has them, so-- I went ahead and merged Columbine with Covers. Can you post a screenshot of your Nicole library? I count on your libraries to be good guidelines
-
So, now that I've got Nicole's discography (thanks, @!), I have an organization question (one of many, I'm sure): What do y'all do with the Columbine EP? Do you keep it intact, or merge it with the Covers album, like she did? I'm curious to see.

I love doing these! From my Spotify (since I really only have unreleased discographies, live albums, and CDs I own on iTunes): 1. Oh! You Pretty Things - David Bowie 2. This is What Makes Us Girls - LDR 3. Help! - The Beatles 4. Yama Yama - Yamasuki Singers 5. Help - Erica Campbell (feat. Lecrae) 6. Moments of Pleasure - Kate Bush 7. The World Should Revolve Around Me - Little Jackie 8. Beauty and the Beast (Live, 1978) - David Bowie 9. She Works Hard for the Money - Donna Summer 10. Me and Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin Love this playlist <3

Can someone please PM me a masterpost of Nicole's work? I'm slowly getting into her work-- I found her in about 2013 through last.fm (I think I heard Dog Teeth and Observatory Mansions) but I HATED her work at the time-- it was too dark/creepy for me then, and I couldn't really stomach it. Now, however, I'm really enjoying what I've heard (a few tracks off NBL, really-- Poacher's Pride, You're So Cool, and In the Land are ones I'm very familiar with), and I want to get into her music! Thanks, y'all I'm also a huge fan of the Flowers in the Attic books, so I love the ties to that series and the VC Andrews-ish quality to her work <3
