OTTR was the only Lana song I knew for quite a while, and I heard it right after the album was released. Then, my memory is kind of hazy as to what I heard next, but I know it was one of the unreleased-- Kill Kill was definitely the next Lana song I heard, but if you don't count that as unreleased, Get Drunk may have been next (I remember hearing it around 2012, which is when it leaked-- I have no idea how I even found it). If it wasn't Get Drunk, it was Trash Magic, and for whatever reason, it took me a couple years to ever listen to anything else of Lana's

The best Lana Del Rey listening experiences happen...
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to urbannoize's topic in Lana Thoughts
I never actually listened to AKA in this setting, but I *know* it would've been perfect: It was while my family was living in a little apartment (not too dissimilar from Lizzy's days in the trailer park) and sometimes I'd listen to music lying on the bottom bunk of my bed with the windows open, a cool breeze blowing in, and the Latin music the Hispanic family next door was playing coming in really faintly. The only light was the moon and the red, white and blue rope lights I'd strung up on the bottom of the top bunk and my window, and I'd light some incense as well. It was so relaxing, and I could allow myself to just get lost in whatever I was listening to-- I really miss that -

This is also definitely my favorite track from LFL I've heard this far (if it is going to be on the album). Fingers crossed that it sees some sort of release, because it's gorgeous

Do you think Lana Leaked Best American Record?
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to bigspender's topic in Lana Thoughts
A little bit OT, but the selfies on the burthdaykake acct. are some of my favorite selfies Lana's ever taken Also, didn't there used to be a lot more content on the account? I seem to distinctly remember a lot of videos created for Lana's songs on that channel, and I always liked them a lot-- if Lana was the one making them, it'd be no wonder! -

Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
sparklrtrailrheaven replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
@ I wouldn't say the title is *definitely* fanmade A while back, I asked a similar question, and a member (forgive me for not remembering who) shared screenshots of the original torrent. So far as anyone knows, that torrent is where No Kung Fu originally leaked, and it was leaked under that title. The veracity of that title depends on who that original leaker was, but it seems it must've been someone close to Lizzy (with some speculating that it could've even been David Kahne). I can't seem to find the screenshot that includes the leaker's description of the torrent, but here's another screenshot that shows that the NKF title has been linked to the tape since it leaked: So, I suppose there's just as much (if not more) reason to believe that the title's legittt (Also, assuming that the title "No Kung Fu" didn't just come off the top of a fan/leaker's head, where might it have come from? It's strange enough that I'm willing to believe Lizzy coined it. However, could it be code for something? It sounds like a bit of a stretch, but I can imagine "NKF" being the real initials of a Lizzy title, and in a personal source's reluctance to reveal it, they just assigned a bogus title to the real initials, so it could still contain some nod to the original. Or, perhaps, they got ahold of a CD that Lizzy had written "NKF" on, and they filled in the acronym? It's a puzzling title, to be sure.) -
I love the fact that you're as obsessed and incessant w/My Song 57 as I am w/Mertens' AKA "we don't look for heaven and we put leaks first something we'd die for, it's a curse don't cry about it, don't cry about it"

Haven't been to this thread for a while, so: 1. Clockface - Siouxsie and the Banshees 2. All the Young Dudes - David Bowie 3. Symphony in Blue - Kate Bush 4. Queen Bitch - David Bowie 5. No Matter What Sign You Are - Diana Ross & the Supremes 6. Hong Kong Garden - Siouxsie and the Banshees 7. I'm Gonna Haunt You - Fabienne Delsol 8. Life on Mars - Barbra Streisand 9. Space Oddity (Live, 1972) - David Bowie 10. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around - Stevie Nicks feat. Tom Petty Kind of Bowie-heavy, but a really good playlist, imo!

Honestly, as many unleaked tracks there are that I'd love to hear, if Mertens' AKA would leak, I'd be content. AKA means soooo much to me, and the leaks I get most excited about are leaks from that era (The Ocean, Roller Dirby, Wayamaya, etc.) because it's the closest to having more tracks on that album. Therefore, to have Mertens' AKA, I'd finally have alternate versions of my favorite songs in the world, but also versions produced by my favorite producer to work with Lana. I'm gonna cry when (not if; I'm willing this leak into existence) it leaks. I'm gonna be in shock for several days. It means *that* much to me. this is a not-so-carefully coded cry for help. leak the album. i need it;
