MM and 1949 are both so perfect! Your best work so far, in my opinion

Was the 1949 art inspired by Gone With the Wind?

I see that Christ above Lana, guns and flying diamonds are en vogue now (these are my ancient oeuvres). BUT, that could be the case of mere accidence and sinchronicity, since the Person that made cover with same motives doesn't have almost anything in common with my artistical expression. Even, I very much appreciate what that Person does and creates.

I would like to remind you all of these old works

BTW. Tomorrow is my great solo exhibition. I would jump to the stratosphere if all of you could come by teleportation (of course, the ones at least slightly interested in what I do)

Is Lizzy back? This does remind me of her old videos from back in the day. I love her hair here. Looks light and the bangs look adorable. Does anyone know the music playing in the background?

Could be this video was filmed the same day this picture was taken? She has the same hairstyle and hair clip on her hair.

It's nice to see her being more open to us and sharing stuff on her instagram.

Live Forever/Golden Grill epitomizes the ultimate Lana to me, although I don't think it represents most of her work thematically or musically (not anymore, at least). This combination of a classic, jazz-infused pop sound with the gangster-themed imagery is just something Lana does so well, and the song really showcases her vocal range too. I feel the same way about The Man I Love.

If I had to pick one that really represents her discography it would probably be Body Electric, or Shades of Cool.

I think Gaga did more than justice to Bowie-- this coming from a Bowie fan, even if I'm a relatively new one.

Sure, it didn't have all the technology promised, but that might have been a step too far, removing it from being a Bowie tribute.

I think it had just enough flair to honor Bowie's own artistic sensibilities, but enough restraint to be respectful and focused on Bowie.
  14. sparklrtrailrheaven liked a post in a topic by AngelHeadedHipster in Which song best represents "Lana Del Rey"
I feel RIDE represents Lana the best . The whole message of the song + the monologue represents her soul, her struggle, her success, her downfall, her will to carry on even in the bleakest of times. It's the song that's closest to me as well because it talks about being at war with yourself and since I'm a Gemini it resonates deeply within me. I feel it's an Anthem for Gemini's all over the world written by the Gemini Goddess herself.

/ / I'm tired of feeling like I'm fucking crazy
I'm tired of driving 'til I see stars in my eyes
It's all I've got to keep myself sane baby
    so I just Ride I just Ride / /

Ride is about Lana narrating her life story, about her difficulty to connect with people, a struggle to find people who have a similar thought process akin to her. It's about feeling trapped within yourself and the only way to experience a release from the prison that is your "mind" is by expressing your "self" through Art regardless of how it may appear to others.

Have you always had a dark side, Lana?

Lana Del Rey: When I was younger I felt lonely... In terms of my thought processes. I had the constant feeling that I thought differently to everyone around me. So, I suppose I felt lonely for a home. I didn't know where I wanted to be, but I knew I wasn't there yet. I think that this loneliness set a dark undertone for things to come.
  15. sparklrtrailrheaven liked a post in a topic by graham4anything in Is Lana Declining?
Yes Lana is declining- She is declining to pay any attention to the haters
She is declining to pay any attention to those that want her to be what she is not (she said this right in the lyric)
She is declining to pay any attention to those that want her to go backwards not forwards
She is declining to be unhappy in her personal life
She is declining to play the #1 celebrity teenage fame game
She is declining all negativity and
She is declinng to sweat the small stuff

She is happy. I am happy she is declining all of the above.

to quote the Sinatra song "She did it HER way"

Long live Lana. The Trailblazer. Where everyone follows her lead and if you don't like it you can beat it, beat it baby.

Ok so here's how it went for me - I'm still shaken asf I have no idea what even happened and I think I caught a planet sized cold - I ran my literal ass off to the tube (I'm so fucking glad I haven't been slacking on cardio cause holy shit I probably outran Usain Bolt), went there and there was nobody in the area so I got scared, then I saw tons of people waiting including paps and basically after that I waited like 2h, I saw Stella Mac Cartney, a LOT of ULTRA HOT people, Lucky Blue Smith who is like, 3m tall?, Charli XCX who left like a thief, some other famous people I don't know the name of, and most importantly I fucking saw Lana, when she got out it was ABSOLUTE CHAOS, literal ultraviolence, I ALMOST didn't met her but an old lady w white hair grabbed the fuck out of me and slammed me on the barricade and Lana saw my sweater and did an adorable dork face for 0.3s and then took pics with me and I look gross but whatever I'm so motherfucking happy. Didn't got UV vinyl signed but to this point I don't even give a fuck I mean??????????????? Seriously this morning I almost didn't got out of bed because I was depressed out of my balls and tonight I got pics with her? This is the best year ever for me and I'm literally leaking gratitude. Also she looked taller than the other time and so beautiful and Johnny and Ben were here and I SWEAR TO GOD when they got into the car I was the one Johnny was waving at laughing, I think it's because of my sweater, and Lana was waving too so bye I'm going to die, still considering going to the Brits tomorrow but I'm emotionally drained and most probably sick I'm so fucking happy

My gross pics I'm sorry I look so bad kljflkjdfk
