Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

When she said this record would very calm with no bangers, I thought we would be getting a record in the vein of MAC/How to Disappear/IYC snippets, not piano ballads.....

Didn’t she say at one of her shows, or to fans after it. that it was in the same vein as Change?

At least there's no trap beats  :creep:

Did y’all not hear the strings at the beginning of the snippet?? Hello?? It’s not just another piano ballad like hope. We’ve only heard a small part of the song. The strings at the beginning of the snippet sound beautiful.

Again, reminding y’all that most of you were trashing Cinnamon when the first snippet came out, but then suddenly it became most loved song from the album.

You’re totally right. VB’s snippet wasn’t letting on much of its guitars. Plus when UV’s and LFL’s « album samplers » (made of 30-second snippets of all the songs of the record) acme out, I didnt really get « hooked ». A 30-second preview of a Lana song is often disappointing. Her songs are mostly Slow burners.

The Heroin snippet was one of the least interesting snippets yet it turned out to be the best song on LFL

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

i CANNOT be the only one who doesn't love cinnamon as much as everyone does on that site

Give it time. I remember a much «optimistic» time when most people here were in love with VB and now, it's pretty much 50-50. I'm sure someone else will not like it that much. Like Cherry. Everyone was raving about it and yet, two months after LFL's release, I read here that it had «aged like milk».

Could the snippet she posted today be the same song Chuck (?) posted in her story back in May? June? last year? Her voice sounds similar.

Yup, that's what I thought too. The atmosphere would fit aswell

Just do it. Just do it - don't wait!

I feel like this album is her UV 2.0 in that it is stripped down except the instrumentation will rely heavily on piano instead of the guitars from last time around

soooo not uv 2.0

insanity laughs under pressure -- we're cracking

It feels NFR will be HM 2.0 with what we heard: many slow songs, but a bit more on the « raw / demo » side. And like HM, an album that will be more appreciated with time and after many listens. And the couple of songs with more guitars / synths will have a UV flair to them.

She changed her captions on the haiku's to explain them :rip:

if she trynna convince us that waiting for her album is ~beautiful~ then it's rlly not working sksksks

Not trying to be an ass but some of this sounds very....it's like she knows she got roasted and is now trying to say these haikus are actually Super Duper Deep.

It really looks like she wrote those captions as if they were inspired by her haikus and not the other way around lmao. Like, they're better than her poetry. A book of photos and captions would be better than her poetry IMO
