I really dont get the comparisons to the Ultraviolence songs. It sounds more like the NTMT batch than anything on UV

yeah I get more dark cinematic soundtrack vibes off something like requiem for a dream or a horror film not hearing any 70s psych rock vibes at all.

THIS is the sound she was destined for. I'm so glad she's good friends with Lynch and im so glad that she is inspired by him. She captures his dark, creepy vibes so fucking well. I never thought she'd make a song like NTMT again but this... she really fucking DID IT. It sounds so Red House Painters inspired. I was always frustrated with how NTMT had so many awkward pop songs and then just 1 incredible haunting masterpiece at the end, it annoyed me that more of the album wasn't in the same vein.

 

..Anyway i really love this track, the instrumental is killer and the violins are orgasmic. I just hope the rest of masochism is cohesive and not as much of a random mess like NTMT

I always thought Night Time, My Time (the song) was the best track she ever did so I'm glad this new sound seemingly goes more into that direction instead of the more shrill and pop one.

24 Hours and You're Not the One are pop. Everything Is Embarrassing was not even on that album. Then there's Can't Say No to Myself if you count the B sides. Anyways, I'm ecstatic that my Sky collection is expanding!
