i think Fingertips is kind of heart of the album. mentioning many times, speaking about it like it is game-changer. it's important to album for sure and having impact to understand about what album is, something like summary.

Yep, and all three of the insiders (BoZ, Kintsugi, and I believe Eclipse really likes it too) said it's a big highlight of the album. It's in BoZ's top five as well. I cannot wait

Given how much she seemingly loves this song, as well as the fact that she also mentioned it as the "first" song of the album last May, I wonder why it didn't get the track #1 treatment. It really feels like it might be the lyrical highlight of her entire career.

 

Anyway, it's also quite interesting that she hasn't talked about The Grants at all. Based on what she said about the theme of the album being her family origins, I highly doubt that it's going to be Sweet Carolina redux. In a way, The Grants, Kintsugi, Fingertips, and Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing might be parts of an unofficial thematic tetralogy.

I feel like Lana rarely talks about her opening tracks in general, even if they're singles. White Dress and Love are the only opening tracks that I remember her going into detail about. Honeymoon, Norman, Cruel World, Text Book all came and went, but still made super strong statements about what's to come the rest of the record
