jadee 1,287 Posted February 15, 2023 am i the only one that thinks a&w sounds and feels really new and different?? even the first half of the song, it might be folky and stuff like cotcc but i feel like its still different. i feel like everyone wants her to have "omg another ultraviolence era!!!" or "omg this is sooo lizzy grant" i dont get why every time she releases new stuff people want it to be a copy and paste of ultraviolence so bad. I do too…there is something in the first half that feels like a corrupted, contaminated version of folk Lana. It’s like the song gradually has layers and layers of her “old spirit” bleeding into it. It made the first listening of A&W that much more exciting, because we had zero idea what to expect once we hit play (aside from what the insiders mentioned). I remember being blown away when I first heard the intro to Cruel World when UV came out. A&W is still flooring me.
