BethDufreneOnTheBayouByYou 8,832 Posted May 24 Finally a question about Lasso even though the answer left me with more questions She said in her speech yesterday she has off years where the muse isn’t as strong and she doesn’t feel as inspired as other periods. After opening up so much on COCC, BB and Tunnel maybe she’s not exactly sure where to go next and that’s okay. She should take the time to experiment with her ideas and music instead of rushing…..even though according to her this has been three years in the making
daphnedinkley 13,478 Posted May 24 i think lana is genuinely concerned about looking like a trend hopper (“four major artists announced country albums”) so i think the country thing has probs been shelved for now which is unfortunate bc i think it would’ve slayed but i’m just excited she’s feeling a bit more playful and melodic for the next record !!
WhiteHot4ever 636 Posted May 24 Well this is so Lana code… hopeful, we will have the record next year…. Or maybe never.

Hopefully working with quavo redirects her to trap again just a dream I had in mind

Which I think it's good because it means she wants to keep doing her own thing, which is exactly why she's one of the GOATs. I'd go full jazz/electronica/trap if I were her but I'm sure whatever decision she makes will pay off creatively. I just don't see it coming anytime soon. She's now living the things that are probably inspiring her into writing new material.
Embach 42,444 Posted May 24 But didn't she say to Elle that Lasso is still gonna be out in 2024 or something? She probably revamped the album's concept, like @rosemead ramada said, she has done it all the time since UV.

Honestly you can’t trust Lana with an album release date until you see an actual preorder up.
Let the Light In 18,669 Posted May 24 Tough was going to be a country song infused with trap beats according to an insider. We saw a still from the music video and she was holding a guitar in the middle of a field. What’s happening 14 Quote I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sick of it

crazyforyou 4,321 Posted May 24 the best case scenario is that we still get an album this september but it’s fully trap 10 Quote Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her
Chanele 446 Posted May 24 I feel like its gonna be Country but obviously infused with her own elements. I dont think its cancelled or scraped because she has done so much work/meeting country artists recently. I feel like her saying “everyone went silent” - because no one believed that the music industry was going country. But then the week later 4 aftists were going country so she was trying to say “did I prove my point”
Americen Whore 10,132 Posted May 24 There’s no way she canceled the album or changed the genre, like the country theme they did for coachella with a rope, wearing all these country outfits, singing with so many country artists, opening Coachella with a country song, Margaret calling her country queen, henry being produced by a country producer, tough having country lyrics, and her saying she’s going country, all went for nothing?
jimmyjimmycocoapuff 5,708 Posted May 24 i'm 100% here for melodic, structured songs. i'm kind of sick of the stream of consciousness writing we've been seeing from her and other artists lately. also my dad just texted me the NME article- i think he's more excited for this album then i am 10 Quote In a dream, are all the characters really you? Trash Magic 28,379 Posted May 24 That was a really fun interview. I loved the anecdote about the green contact lenses. Not someone finally asking about the album only to leave us in more uncertainty than before 13 Quote "It's 2011, and we should all be aware of exactly how fast technology is developing" - Lana Del Rey

honey dew 11,786 Posted May 24 She's so funny for saying all 5000 people in the audience went dead silent after she said the industry's going country bc am I demented or was there not applause when she said that?
