I’m not one to care all that much about artists i like and their personal political views, ultimately i’m there for the music…….but the DJ set at a Trump after party is fairly disappointing. Grimes is very talented……but i think she might be a bit stupid unfortunately.

At this point who even cares anymore 

 

theres plenty of talented or "has been" artists who have a good catalogue but shitty morals. at this point more than half the artists i've listened to or listen to have been accused of everything under the sun, sometimes of which are false accusations but regardless of the matter: you can still enjoy music without supporting the person. don't restrict yourself. 

if it's that much of a problem for you then i'd suggest pirating her music, blocking her on streaming and not listening to her again, sell her merch on ebay or vinted or whatever, idk. no one else except yourself is going to care. 

 

there's a major difference between supporting someone and listening to the music alone, whatever they've done or do isn't linked to their music itself. but yeah. idk my statement is consistent or not but irdgaf i just woke up so

well apparently she didn’t actually DJ so the washington post have removed the DJing line specifically, but she was still there, and one of the girls from the red scare podcast said they met Grimes there, which was released before this article was out.
 

honestly I’ve tried giving her the benefit of the doubt so many times but I think I’m just over her at this point. I’ll check out her album if ever comes out and pirate it if it’s any good. I saw someone smash up their grimes vinyls and personally I think that’s just wasting your own money, just resell them to someone else and donate the money to a good cause or something

worst possible timing for this to arrive but like a month or two ago I ordered a WAP / Pretty Dark 7" from Kunaki and it finally came  the quality isn't the greatest there's a weird form of compression or distortion thats cutting the high end?  I think it sounds like im listening through a box on WAP but like who cares I got it for the aesthetic over practicality honestly  it was my first time ordering from them and im content! the edges of the vinyl are a lil jankly cut and sharp but its a cheap ass bootleg so idrc.

Still trying to understand what the fuck happened to her

1. I think Grimes has always been privileged enough to play around with yet not be serious about her views and politics

2. She is absolutely a victim of Elon and her life has been a fucking horror show since 2020 trying to be with her children.

3. I think currently she's doing her best to just *be okay* and for her children to be okay and for that to happen she has to be somewhat involved in what Elon does and can't just straight-up oppose him like she would have done 10 years ago, and that's soooo shit i know. I think it means we've lost her for good.
