WesleyRae 14 Posted January 18, 2015 Somewhere Only We Know was actually written and preformed by a band called Keane but nvm I'd love to see Lana cover it tbh Oops, my memory was a bit hazy. Must have thought it was a Lily Allen song at the time because that cover version was just on my playlist, lol.

toshi 948 Posted January 21, 2015 I can't remember if I've posted this on this thread before but I always thought Lana could do a nice rendition of Fiona Apple's Criminal (or almost anything else from the Tidal album, in fact). The lyrics are so her. Omg Cool and Criminal would be fantastic. Another one I'd like is - September Song

FragileLamplight 62 Posted March 25, 2015 A hauntingly/slow version of this would be heavenly. Perhaps a bit too unique for a Lana cover, but its still one of my fave "weathers". The things she could do with the "gazing at you" part omg. 0 Quote "A true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love." - Che Guevara
Wild One 3,306 Posted March 25, 2015 I would really like her to cover Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.
Mafiosa 1,089 Posted March 28, 2015 I also want her to cover "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" in full. It's such a gorgeous song for her voice and she did it so well on the Paradise tour.
FragileLamplight 62 Posted March 28, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04QruaUQ50M For No One echoes a lot of the same themes Lana writes about, and I think it would be a great fit for her voice. 0 Quote "A true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love." - Che Guevara

brooklynbaby91 1,386 Posted April 18, 2015 Has anyone mentioned Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics? The lyrics are so Lana. I'd like her to cover it and bring her own touch to the instrumentals.
Chocolate Eyes 548 Posted April 19, 2015 I think she could make her own cool version of "Bloody Creature Poster Girl" by In This Moment. Though it's nu-metal, the song has an vintage old movie type sound to it and the lyrics of "Marilyn kisses" and "poster girls" are like Lana's Marilyn and beauty queen references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sM_MN3CN-aM Can't really explain why for this one but I thought this could be Lanaesque. Probably because of the theme of being in a bad relationship but not really wanting to let go and at the same time the song sounds more soothing rather than sad. 0 Quote 🌧️
Creyk 11,699 Posted April 20, 2015 I want her to cover Somewhere Over the Rainbow for some reason. That's such a great idea She could turn it into a slow, depressing anthem, a total transformation sort of like she did with OUAD
LoreleiLee 1,306 Posted April 21, 2015 I found this very interesting, she covering the nasal voice of genius Lynch or collaborating with him (so hypnotic): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UHqSDo2V_A Also, I would like to hear something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoyNlJw1jIc Disco, yeah: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atZS2PNi0pU Dark sixties Nico: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jScVMCrzN1Q Light sixties Nico: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrRknEVRyIE Joan Baez: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIjzvTObzgA Tori Amos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEMxztVryAI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVMwDd8V_kY Kate Bush https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1pMMIe4hb4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp43OdtAAkM And brooklynbaby91 gave me an idea (Eurythmics, Here Comes The Rain Again): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c9r15O1JVw Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg: Je t'aime...moi non plus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3Fa4lOQfbA My favourite Sky Ferreira song, Ghost: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oerL8sd4TGA
LoreleiLee 1,306 Posted April 21, 2015 Oh, I forgot Velvet Underground, dark, experimental and subversive in the midst of glee sixties, singing about pain, fetishes, perversity and addiction in a way Lana could carry it out perfectly. Not to mention her icon status can almost already be compared to the one of Nico, but although Lana often shows her vulnerable side and Nico was aloof ice queen (tropical vs. teutonic), Lana can also act as detached femme fatale on her frosty throne. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjjDmX9Tkss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwzaifhSw2c Nico, My Funny Valentine (or anybody else's): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvE9WRM86Hs (comments section: "my tranny valentine" ) - her voice is strange and even repulsive and eerie to many, but she was deaf to one ear and had that unique grave german accent and masculine austerity of vocals Lana, in contrast, sounds like summer zephyr and her interpretation would probably be angelic And Portishead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qQyUi4zfDs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJqem6ek4CI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoI08LdWQwQ (has a touch of Bond themes) This is magical and mesmerizing (This Mortal Coil: Song to the Siren): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFWKJ2FUiAQ

graham4anything 2,859 Posted May 11, 2015 Roy Orbison's "A love so beautiful" and to do an official Christmas release with Leonard Cohen (perhaps doing the bing/bowie song) Also Lana should do Bing Crosby's and Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark (note-they are two different songs, Bing's song was heard in the movie "The Shining" at the bar scene with Jack Nicholson, and somehow make it into a medley Also would love to hear Lana doing a Harry Chapin song and championing Harry into the Rock hall of fame. Two unique people. Perhaps twist Harry's "Mail order Annie" around, and be Annie, or perhaps, twist Harry's Corey's coming, and be Corey herself. (so perhaps splice a duet with Harry into it). 0 Quote Lana is our modern day Edith Piaf. Totally unique. a mixture of Brian WIlson Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, Gram Parsons, Elton & Bernie. Born to Die/Paradise is comparable to Elton's Captain Fantastic. All the records need to be listened whole. Waiting for a box set vinyl of all 400 songs not on any lp
