It's kinda dumb how they used the song for the trailer and never release it, but I think they intended it that way. If you see the movie poster with the credits on it, Lana wasn't mentioned like Big Eyes and Hi How Are You Daniel Johnston. I still don't really understand why they wanna do that, but I figured maybe Lana's voice in the trailer will help them to gain more audience to watch the movie? Possible.

It doesn't make sense to make an album consisting of the same producer all throughout and then add onto it with songs produced by someone else/other people.

I don't think so, it seems like she's pretty much over this album. She explicitly stated in the Beats 1 interview that any song that didn't make the album was locked up in Rick Nowels's studio (she wanted to get rid of them, but he didn't). She's already in the studio again, possibly already working on the next record.
