Create an Unreleased Lana Album/Playlist

Recommended Posts

For a short playlist, the actual Angels Forever EP works really nice with some additions:

  1. I Don't Wanna Go
  2. Angels Forever
  3. Hollywood
  4. Lucky Ones (Demo)
  5. JFK
  6. Starry Eyed
  7. Black Beauty

I personally really like playlists which are composed of songs with a similar mood/feel, and to me these do.

(If someone has an idea to extend the playlist, what would fit with this mood, do tell me  I was thinking about Gramma but not sure...)

This is an amazng EP!!!

@@SitarHero I NEEEEEED to know which of your wonderful albums Because of You goes on. pls.

Still toying with it but this actually sounds pretty great and makes this volume a little more appealing to listen to, at least for me.

Bite your hand, PB...You remain so baffling.

But I too have a UV playlist (though I didn't really change the album order)...just something to better incorporate the bonus tracks. Focused on moments where I felt there wasn't a great flow from song to song

1. Cruel World

2. Ultraviolence

3. Shades of Cool

4. Brooklyn Baby

5. Angels Forever, Forever Angels

6. West Coast

7. Guns and Roses

I've been pulling my hair out the last few days trying to organize my lazy Demos album that I'd thrown every leak from like last year into.

101 songs, I am determined to make my own kind of Lana library out of it, similar to how Sitar does it. Though I did copy his Champagne Sighs album... changing the title to Daytona Meth & adding Daddy Issues (it doesn't fit anywhere else, my poor baby) and Lift Your Eyes into it, since LYE is a sloppy snippet on par with all the other laptop demos.

It's my (probably poor) attempt to create a playlist that really gives an American feel while listening to the songs and lyrics. I don't know if I'm good at flows and stuff but I kinda like it. Well, I think there's something still lacking in it - anyone has any idea which songs would thematically and acoustically fit in such a playlist or which of these songs don't?

Also I really need to create a Road Trip kind of playlist that I can listen to on my road trip in America but I don't know where to start. I'd love to get some ideas. Your playlists are all pretty awesome.

@@PrettyBaby I need playlist help! Or rather... naming playlists & getting pictures that would serve as appropriate artwork. :rip:

I'd love your ideas and feedback in general on the playlists though. :) I asked Sitar for help & he showed me all of his tracklists. I took some of his advice verbatim (his Champagne Sighs album cannot be clocked [well I did throw Daddy Issues in there because it's such a sore thumb anywhere else IMO {my baby ((omfg I'm a parenthetical mess))}]) but for the most part I'm trying to make my own albums my way.

I'm really not feeling The Revenge of Lana Del Rey like I thought I would; the title, I mean. Also I need to pick a different cover because that lovely picture is already in use for another album. Same for St. Tropez... kinda just temporarily named it after my favorite song in the album. It needs a different picture too. I can't think of any images to work with, though. :( Someone help meeee. Playlist feedback is welcome, too. :P Though I doubt anyone will convince me to change them, I'm pretty happy with 'em.

Someone asking for my help?!? :D You have no idea how excited this makes me. (Or maybe you do. Hee.)

"The Revenge of Lana Del Rey" could work as a title, maybe, if you put something like "She's Not Me" at the end of it... but yeah, I'm not feeling it either. It reminds me a lot of my "Hollywood Playaz" playlist:

HollywoodPlayaz_zpsc237abb1.jpg

...so I think something from that shoot (Wonderland Magazine 2011 by AJ Numan) would work; I don't know how you feel about the one with the red leather dress, but maybe if you call it something like "Playing Dangerous"? Though you also have songs on there that fit with 2010 Nicole Nodland pics of the Lizzy/Lana transition...

Like this one, but without filtering the colors to hell like I did...

velvetcrowbar2_zps63341c50.jpg

...so yeah, I'm feeling "Hollywood Playaz," "Playing Dangerous," or even "Beautiful Player" for this one.

"St. Tropez" reminds me of my "Lost in N.Y.C." playlist with some "Neon Gold" thrown in, but yours is heavier on the Lizzy era I think. (Not surfer girl Lizzy, but trailer-park-gone-ghetto Lizzy) "Party Girl" says it all. (I don't think you need PG on the playlist to use it as a title.) So a Chuck Grant photo 2008-9, like when she's wearing the black cat mask, or the blonde wig and navy polka-dot bra, would be perfect I think.

like this but with brighter colors?

everyman2.jpg

I take it you don't like Daddy Issues? I love it, ha, but beyond that, I think it would stick out like a sore thumb on "Champagne Sighs" more than any other playlist I could envision. I think it would go perfectly at the end of your "St. Tropez" playlist.

Hope some of this helps! Keep tweaking it till you love it :)

I knew asking you would help, omg. Thank you so much. :crying5:

I actually really love Daddy Issues! It's in my top 10 fav Lana songs.. I just don't feel like it fits anywhere. :rip:

& Since I Was In a Bad Way is already in CS, I felt like it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to put in there as well. I have it between Midnite Dancer Girlfriend and Doijroij. :)

I'm really feeling Party Girl as the title for my St. Tropez album! Now to just find a picture I like for it. Thank you again. :D
