is it bad i dont care if we get a film or not i only like visual albums from the big girls like beyonce and rihanna in the future maybe or even gaga ... it was cool for the k-12 film for that one album but a normal roll out would be better imo ... just drop the album with maybe 2 singles before especially considering people already have the full album

I just want the album, I don't care about visuals but if she's gonna do them I'd really prefer music videos.

Nobody has the full album. Just a batch of demos at varying levels of incomplete, some of which only having hooks, not being produced (like piano and vocals only ala Play Date demo), or only being instrumental. I'm not sure most of the songs were, at that point, ready for any kind of release!

yeah i hope she drops the film too, as i said in this thread before she's not good at writing film scripts anyway if she really wants to tell the story of the album she can do it cry baby style OR somerhing like what zolita did for her evil angel album.

on that album zolita tells the story of her previous very toxic relationship. she did an AMAZING photoshoot, then great music videos for the singles, and to finish the era she released a 15min short film that goes with the album. it was a fantastic rollout especially considering shes an independent artist and directed/written everything my herself with a low budget, and none of the visuals look cheap.

i would love for melanie to do something like this for mm3! i think theres a chance giving that with all the leaks she might have to drop the film and release the album faster anyways.

- The Blue drink that almost kills the Principal is the same one that Crybaby gave the Wolf in Milk and Cookies

- When Crybaby and Angelita talk about what different lives they might’ve had together, its ironic because Angelita is the same demon that helps Crybaby in Tag You’re It/Milk and Cookies, and the same demon we see in Mad Hatter

^ I hope she just drops the film. I don't want visuals all that much but if we're getting them, music videos are more where I think she does a great job.

To be honest, the only films accompanying an album I've liked are The Odyssey (by Florence + the Machine for How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful) and Fairy Dust + Fire Fade (by Tove Lo for Lady Wood). I liked K-12 too, but it's def not my favourite. But regardless, like most people here, I'd root for a conventional rollout for MM3, with music videos instead of her waiting to release the album until she finishes the film.

I really just can't believe that Melanie is STILL trying to do the movie for the album... and that the label is letting her. For an artist of her stature, the visual album route is what's needed. The film was a super fun one-time thing but yeah. Everyday is more potential for a new song from the album to leak, and if she or her label are smart, they will scrap the movie and rework them into music videos of varying length which will give Melanie the opportunity to release singles beforehand + take her time for each video post-release. I really doubt ANYONE would complain if that were to happen and it could honestly give us the BEST version of this era we could get (knowing how K-12 panned out.) It would mean she'd be able to put together a video within like a couple weeks, I'd say, and begin the era which will reduce the chances of major leaks that will spoil an entire film. I feel like Melanie will do singles anyways despite film or not

She's actually said no releases would happen between after school and mm3 but I just can't believe that. Pastelae is reposting so much old Melanie stuff on Twitter and teasing titles like Needle & Thread, Mel is dead silent apart from an occasional story share like she's about to announce something, and she's not made an Instagram post at all since her birthday. It's really feeling like she's waiting for the right moment to say something. Reguardless, the album absolutely will not go without another leak if she chooses to continue on the film route for a 2023-2024 release date, which is the absolute soonest a film could be ready for release considering production has not even begun. Not when so much, be it completed or otherwise, is in people's hands.
