Sevda Alizadeh, also known as Sevdaliza, is an Iranian-born multimedia artist based in the Netherlands. This was surprising news to me - but she was a professional basketball player before she turned to music! She left home at 16 on a basketball scholarship and eventually played for the Dutch national team. Now, she creates beautifully crafted songs & videos with a very sensual and almost melancholic / mechanical feel to them. 

 

Sevdaliza has released 2 EPs so far, along with some features here and there. She also dropped a short film earlier this year, titled The Formula. & Just a few days ago, she released a new single - Time, and it's absolutely gorgeous.

Can I also just say that this woman has basically become my new Lana at this point??? I haven't been this enamored with a new artist in so long. Stupid HDB fun fact;  I don't really like music videos. But !!!! THIS WOMAN. THIS GODDESS. This music video was my introduction to her & I was immediately obsessed. Like. I'm glad I love Hey Girl, Florence sounds legendary leading off that chorus. The whole song sounds so classic, The Queen outro teas
 
Not sure if I can choose a frontrunner favorite track yet--which is odd, I think with Gaga releases I hype myself to buckle in for the showstopping peaks but Joanne is full of them! The fact that there's NO filler, wow. Each song feels unique and expertly executed, and execution is often the phase where many Gaga songs fall apart, even if they were good ideas to start. Agvhbkjmnhhhjgf I love it.

hbtb did not happen in europe, salvatore was the song bbc choose to play and it's also the only song that did have potential to be a radio hit in europe. she even had some sort of deal with bbc because she got to do a live lounge (even with her silly request not to be filmed) then they also played hbtb and premiered salvatore. her team however thought one european radio is enough for her to get #1s across the continent. they also didn't really do anything with salvatore which was a pretty stupid decision since a radio (one of the most influencial pop radios across europe, when you compare their new sounds prediction thing with the actual charts in the following year) choose that song to be played.

Same!!! Ever since I watched S2 Tati became my favorite queen ever. It was sad seeing her so low in numbers regarding popularity because she's so amazing. I'm glad they gave her this second chance and it truly worked on her favor.
